The BC Liberals: Corrupt from Top to Bottom–The Soiling of Government Independence Like Never Before
Someone queue the beloved David Berner laugh track…
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I can’t take it any more. You just cannot make this stuff up.
For those that are unaware of what I’m going on about, read this.
The chair of the committee deciding Auditor General John Doyle’s fate was the only MLA cited for offside financial practices, but saw nothing to remain on as committee chair. In fact, Vernon disgrace Eric Foster claims he knew little of the AG’s objections.
At the heart of the matter is Foster’s billing of $70,000 plus in renovations for his constituency office. The building is owned by his constituency assistant’s family.
Now, here’s where it gets wonderful…
Foster’s utterly dimwitted staff sent in bills to be paid, WITHOUT INVOICE! Imagine the gall! So, John Doyle busts them, and cites Foster in a report.
Well, that doesn’t matter, as the equally, utterly dimwitted Speaker Bill Barisoff approves the expenses WITHOUT INVOICE, to make his fellow colleague’s life milk and honey.
Foster stays on as chair, even though he admits to at least knowing of the Doyle sanction ONLY after the fact (a likely story).
And Barisoff slithers back to his rock, er, excuse me, throne.
In the mean time, Foster asks the ever-impartial, completely without conflict (my tongue is planted firmly in cheek) Conflict Commissioner Paul Fraser (family friend of Christy Clark), to review the upgrade affair, since the constituency office building belongs to his constituency assistant’s family, and Foster, because he’s such a principled fellow, would never commit to anything out of bounds.
No Siree…
Of course, no shock whatsoever, Fraser finds not a hint of conflict whatsoever (I mean, how could you?), and Foster walks on with head held high.
And knuckles surfing the sidewalk.
UNBELIEVABLE!
1) The Speaker should resign as he’s a disgrace. He knows nothing of the impartiality demanded of his office. He’s proved that he’s a blind political partisan. Barisoff is a shame to the office. He should call Stephen Rogers for a refresher course in how to hold the office with dignity and decorum.
2) Fraser’s look at the upgrade affair should be immediately reviewed. I find it impossible that he didn’t discover any wrong doing.
3) Foster should be censured for doing what he did. It is clearly WRONG to have submitted any bills for payment without invoices. It’s outrageous that he would approve of that.
4) Any staffer involved in sending along those expenses should be IMMEDIATELY fired. What kind of idiot would tack unqualified bills on the taxpayer to pay?!? It’s beyond outrageous.
Oh well…yet another day in the most corrupt province in Canada.

Tomorrow, I’ll tell you about BC’s top journalist, and why he’s shown uncommon journalistic integrity.
And why there needs to be an inquiry on the BC Place upgrades.
See you then.
I used the search function on the City of Vernon website, and could not locate any building permits for the address in question.
Here’s the link:

Good work Alpha_Bear!
No permit implies 2 possible scenarios:
1. Nothing was done!
If that’s the case, where did the money go?
or
2. Work was done without a permit – which is illegal!
[Translate]
Looks like fixtures/assets/furniture/etc./etc purchased were for removal to the homestead after the election. Yee Haa! The TAXPAYERS WERE JUST RUSTLED.
[Translate]
LOVE it!
Were these people actually too stupid to get a building permit?
[Translate]
Probably using friends in order to avoid the HST?
[Translate]
BAHAHAHAHA!!!! I love the last comment!!!!! I would bet everything on the fact no Reno or just a paint job happened and the $70,000 will not be able to be accounted for!! Go get em ALEX. I bet by the time you arrive in Vernon his office will be closed!
[Translate]
That is something that never crossed my mind 212Degrees… but when you mention it I’d be very interested to know who got the reno jobs and whether HST was paid.
That would be a huge issue to me since I have to pay the HST on everything until April…
[Translate]
im curious if there is a way to find any land holding’s foster and his wife own in the area and do a building permit search for those properties in that time line.
having a government contract awarded at a massively inflated rate to cover the cost for work done on a private residence is not exactly a new scam.
[Translate]
Already ahead of you.
[Translate]
Is this what happens when your party is in in power for 10 plus years.
This just keeps snowballing
i think the silent majority of BC would prefer to be a republic of Mr Doyle and not be without his appreciated Independent oversight, especially with a shutdown BC legislature.A healthy democracy requires a healthy dialogue.
[Translate]
Nah, the NDP are a shoo-in and they know it.
And they aren’t worried about “stepping up their game” and won’t be cleaning up anything.
They will do as other elected parties do when they’ve been in the wilderness (opposition) for so long. They’ll go hog wild without a care for what the public thinks. They’ll ram in all kinds of things for their pals and political base, often under the radar.
By the time the public catches on, it will have been too late.
Same old, same old.
[Translate]
I fear you are correct.
[Translate]
Ya gotta admire Gordo. He was able to pull off multi million dollar rail and hydro sell offs and cover them up so cooly and professionally they may never see the light of day, while his excellency lives happily ever after. These guys can’t even pull off a two bit office reno skim without landing in deep doodoo.
[Translate]
BTW–Great to hear you thr other day…
[Translate]
Thanks, but I am not who you think I am, tho I think I know who you think I am. Contact me privately if you want my to clarify the clarification.
[Translate]
Oh okay.

Hi Alex,
Couple things from this story:
http://www.vernonmorningstar.com/news/186200611.html
“I didn’t know about the letter so it didn’t influence my decision.” So we know for certain which 3 of the liberal committee who voted him out now!! Is that not breaking the secret committee rules HAHAHA!!!
Foster is a member of LAMC, but he says he was not on the committee when Doyle’s letter was received in August 2011. Just goes to show when the liberals have a problem they stack the committee with said problem to make it go away!! He was the best person for the LAMC committee, or he need to go clean up his mess!!! HAHAHA
This looks like a loan was given under false pretense to me!!!
[Translate]
As an mla, Eric Foster is and has been a waste of space.

But we do have the control of the party to take swift action on these kinds of matters.
News1130 @News1130radio
A Vancouver Island radio DJ who made an inappropriate remark to@ChristyClarkBC in an interview has been fired.
I didn’t agree with the question myself, but it amazes me that swift action is taken against a “working citizen” while the Christy Clark government controls messaging.
The victim card defense… while shady deals made by her government are left to go unchecked..
*shaking my head*
[Translate]
So who exacty is a “working citizen”? Everyone who has a paycheque deposit.
Wait until the NDP controls messaging the only difference is that it will be orange rather than blue.
[Translate]
And it will be bigger cheques for union supporters of the NDP and smaller cheques for everyone else.

“It’s privileged information, it’s not to be published. Whoever leaked it to the Times-Colonist was breaking the law,” Mr. Foster told reporters.
But Finance Minister Mike de Jong offered his caucus colleague little sympathy, saying the public should have access to details of how MLAs spend public money.
“I have long spoken for the need for more transparency and increased public accountability for the dollars that are spent by MLAs and cabinet ministers,” Mr. de Jong said. “It has taken longer than I would have liked to see reform occur, but it is happening now.”
and so the glare heats up

[Translate]
Oh yes, deJong, that paragon of virtue, who lied his ass off about the Basi-Virk settlement.
[Translate]
yes that bozo. notice how quickly he has thrown the Foster under the bus.

divulging privileged information is apparently a crime…. unless you’re divulging it to bill belsey “registered” lobbyist….

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks with a very sick child in Children’s Hospital. To see these assholes looting the public purse instead of directing money into where it should go just enrages me. I’d like to walk this wasted orgasm through the oncology ward and tell me that wasting that money on fluffing his nest takes precedence over sick children. These lying thieving bastards all deserve to rot in hell.
[Translate]
Hey, contact me if you need any help at all.
Children’s saved my daughter’s life. I know quite a few people there.
Bless your child. I’ve walked through oncology to visit a reader’s son.
It’s frightening.

Thanks alex. The staff here are outstandingand hes getting the absolute beat care possible. The initial diagnosis was grim with a large mass but they’ve pretty much ruled out cancer. They are still wprking hard at a diagnosis. He’s being kept in for the time being until they figure out what the problem is. My wife and I are splitting aleeping on the cot with him here while thw other works. Sleep Country could improve on these beds of nails……:-) but I guess its more important to renovate offices and adveetise.

Alex,
Looks like Norman Farrell’s just subtracted another spoke from the BC lib spinning wheels.
http://northerninsights.blogspot.ca/2013/01/citizens-wake-up-please.html
His post states —
“I mentioned in a comment on another article that I’ve heard reports from people doing business with the province who say they are required to kick-back part of what they are paid by taxpayers. I’ve also had reports from contractors forced into doing business with BC through indirect agencies, then asked to reduce charges so that managers of the BC Liberal friendly agencies can take a bigger piece of the action.”
“This is not now subject to review by the BC Auditor General, although he’s heard the same stories, which makes him dangerous to BC liberals if reappointed.“

MORE MONKEY-BUSINESS:
Town Was Duped into Donating to BC Liberals, Says Official
Kitimat wasn’t told of party fundraiser. Other towns have bought access knowingly.
By Dee Hon, 25 Apr 2005, TheTyee.ca
The BC Liberal Party has been funneling municipal tax dollars from B.C. towns into party coffers, according to financial reports filed with Elections BC.
An official from one of the towns claims his municipal government was duped into donating to the party. Other times, the situation was clear: several town officials have since told The Tyee they were using taxpayers’ money to buy access to the premier and provincial ministers.
Either way, the Liberal Party has been using its position in power to garner public money and fund its current election campaign.

Bateman?! The former BC Liberal operative?
No conflict in conmenting there. What an ass…
[Translate]
Yep that’s him. He was actually President of Coleman’s riding association and was a Langley Township Councillor.
Nice kid, but is as sharp as a bowling ball.
[Translate]
No conflict to see here… move along move along
From Langley Times August 08, 2011 re: announcement of Mr Bateman joining CTF. http://www.langleytimes.com/news/127249518.html
“He recently cancelled his membership in the BC Liberal Party, and ended his business association with his friend, Fort Langley-Aldergrove MLA Rich Coleman.”
[Translate]
That’s a bit of joke. He ran into trouble with the BC Liberals for being outspoken in regards to Colin Hansen and so forth during the last few months of The Gordomatic regarding the HST prior to that announcement. Word was he was a bit of a protege to Coleman and he did have aspirations about running in Langley, taking over the riding from Coleman in some sort of “succession”. At least that was I was told.
It was in the news when it got out that One of Their Own was speaking
no speaks against The Dear Leader and the Money Leader in regards to the HST.
Face facts. The kid was pushed.
But before Mr. T. here came along he had a pretty good political blog. All of the political addicts and junkies were in there, freebasing (his and Sean Holman’s) to get their fix. He had good stuff out on the street. As much as ya can take.
But his stuff isn’t as good as this though. Ooooo yehh…
[Translate]
I mainline Mr.T!
[Translate]
and who Funds them and Mr Bateman?
[Translate]
And David, very important to repeat the two quotes posted earlier by Shell.
From the Harris T-C article:
“…Doyle’s audit also recommended that Foster consult with conflict-of-interest commissioner Paul Fraser because the family of Foster’s constituency assistant owned the building space being leased and renovated….”
and from the Leyne column in the T-C:
“…He confirmed that the auditor general’s office raised a conflict-of-interest concern with him last year. It was about the landlord being related by marriage to his office staff member…”
[Translate]
Sometimes I have trouble understanding the workings of Government.
An MLA [or someone on his behalf] submitted a spreadsheet in support of renovations to a rental property that he [ the MLA] rents.
At the moment there is no known record of a building permit from the City .
So a couple of assumptions.
The work was not done by a licensed contractor – he would expect there to be a permit issued.
The work was not inspected by a City Inspector to ensure the renovations met code – after all without a city permit – the city inspector would not have any reason to visit the job site.
In light of the magnitude of the cost [$70,000+/-] would it not be unreasonable to assume then failing these two tests the building should be declared not suitable for occupancy.
Another explanation in the absence of invoices showing where the work was done perhaps the work was done elsewhere?
So, we have a situation where payment is made on the basis of a spreadsheet rather than supporting documentation – purchase orders, invoices etc.
We have no information to prove the work paid for was done at the location for which the spreadsheet was submitted.
I’m trying to find a word that starts and ends with “T” or another one that starts with “F” and ends in “D” to potentially describe what we have in front of us.
I think we have the makings of a TV series in the works – titled “Two Years Less a Day”
[Translate]
I would like to see the CRA get involved so they get the taxes paid that were supposed to be paid on this (by all parties that were supposed to be involved). After all, the gov’t's gots ta get paid, doesn’t it? That’s how gov’t works, doesn’t it? Our taxes…..Paid? And a paper trail to show they were paid. Oh yeah, they don’t have to be in until after the election (if it happens). How convenient……..
[Translate]
the liberal sleaze never ends does it Alex, i would be soooooo ashamed if i was connected in any way with the liberals. How can these pukes stand themselves ? Don’t they care what their familys think of them ?
[Translate]
Obviously not…
[Translate]
Pardon my Martian but Bateman is a fucking ass.
“…what’s not wanted is an AG trying to renew his or her contract by easing up on the government.”
Mr. Doyle has shown throughout his tenure that he is totally above the sewage which is flowing rampant in this province. He is in his position for one reason…..to do the job he was hired to do. To insinuate that there might be any hint of tainting, and that he might compromise his integrity to keep the damned godforsaken job is lower than slime. Doyle is the one force tied to the government of BC who has shown by example, by his performance, that HE IS ABOVE REPROACH.
Jasoin Bateman you are scum, no matter how you word your character assassination.
I believe we’re getting closer to major revelations of corruption on the part of this BC Liberal government, and they’re starting to fire 360 degrees out of fear. Doesn’t even matter if there’s collateral damage as evidenced by de junk’s comments about Foster.
[Translate]
Full Agreement sir!!!!! Mr. Doyle is spectacular. Why can’t he be our Premier, I’d vote him in in an instant. We are not worhty of such class and thye Lieberals are demonstrating that each day. I’m absolutely giddy that he’s on our side (the taxpayers). Just think if he were on the other side, the damage he could hide.
Now where is the stockade and tar and feathers for the rest of them. They’re all tainted one way or another and by the time the election crawls by (if it happens before 2014), we’ll have seen most of the slime these miscreants ooze.

Drex, who we can assume, is/was on the radio to entertain the moron element of our society was fired today.
The Premier who came across as an even bigger moron keeps her job for another 4 months.
The shame and the irony of this is bottomless.
[Translate]
Indeed, limitless.
[Translate]
Christy may have a place for Drex in her communications department.
[Translate]
Christy Clark can have the “offending DJ” fired ,but the damage is still done.
She’s still in waaaay over her head and the longer this charade of a ‘Premier” continues…… the worse it will be for the Libs.
5 months…
5 days …
and counting
[Translate]
Oh great. “The Countdown”..
It was nauseating when Mike Harcourt kept goin’ on with that dang day to day countdown of his at every press conference he had before the 1991 election. That was in addition to the nauseating things that Patrick Kinsella came up with for us to use. And that was in addition to the nauseating speeches that Rita J. gave.
and that was in addition to..
You get the picture..
Was it that bad? It was worse, but nothing as worse than this.
[Translate]
drex is claiming he was fired over the interview with CC.
so the man is being fired for doing his job???? he was not on nw or 1130. its his job to be crass and entertain people. its not his fault that CC decided to appear on a program that invites that kind of humor, and it is not his fault at all that CC has no class and is willing to demonstrate that on public airwaves.
the prem’s office claims they had nothing to do with it….ROFL!!!
heres a hint folks, when your in the entertainment business and ratings are everything, you do not fire people who get you free publicity unless that action does damage to your business…. which in this case it did not imho.
you look at all the people the Liberals are going after and having fired…. i wonder when they will wake up and fire the real problem…CC.
[Translate]
I think you’re wrong.
The station received huge amounts of negative publicity and had several serious complaints.
There is no entertainment in asking the sitting Premier such a question.
It was offensive abd he deserved to be fired.
All those who thought nothing of it, now look as foolish as their opinions.
.
[Translate]
yeah actually your right alex.
i think back to reading a post from a reader on laila’s sight that talked about having her very young son in the car that morning and being glad he had been dropped at school before the comment was made.
she said se would have found it rather difficult to explain to her 12 year old what a milf was.
[Translate]
That she even considered the prospect of speaking to a child about something so disgusting is beyond beluef.
[Translate]
it was not that she was considering it.
she was almost forced into the situation of being asked the question by the premeirs comments… which as you point out are also partly drex’s fault.
i forget at times myself that if its on the internet or tv or radio children are listening and watching.
[Translate]
I don’t disagree Alex but she gleefully went right along with it & thought it was great fun but he loses his job & she keeps hers, for a few months. I guess the station must be getting a piece of the 15 million dollar Jobs campaign.
[Translate]
I think the Milf firing being headlined at this time is simply a distraction from the more pressing issues, AG and Foster. Keep at them Alex.
[Translate]
Bob Mackin
Radio station that axed MILFgate DJ is controlled by Thomson heir http://ow.ly/gIAPr http://ow.ly/gIAPD http://ow.ly/gIAQg #bcpoli
[Translate]
DJ deserverved to be fired for an asinine question to a woman in her position on the radio.
Answering the question in the manner she did is just as bad and deserves the same punishment.
[Translate]
Oh well. There is always CKZZ-FM … cuz you can’t fire the boss.
[Translate]
At least he isn’t Pattison who OWNS BC…..
[Translate]
Asinine and juvenile. I worked for Jimmy and remain cordial with him and Glen.
First rate operators.
And Jimmy is the epitome of class and grace. The attempted slight is pedestrian.
[Translate]
Hold on now this is wrong thinking to a degree. If this Drex guy worked for a station that was say an ‘NW type station, by all means fire him. If on the other hand it’s like the FOX, then WTF? Why did her handlers let her on that station? Obviously I’d be interested in knowing what type of station/show it is (I don’t live on the Island.) If she had said that she was insulted by the question and got up and walked out, fire the guy. But to laugh and giggle like the moronic idiot that she is. I say pin a medal on Drex’s chest for putting another nail in this harridans coffin.
I do agree that all this distracts US, not the MSM, from the much more important story of “Doylegate.”
Sorry but I’ve always wanted to use that. I promise not to do it again.
[Translate]
THIS JUST IN:
Drex just got hired at 99.3 The Fox doing overnights and weekends. Not sure if his MILF fiasco gave him a bump to move up to “the big leagues”.
I’m starting to wonder if some of the same players that got CC her job at NW are in the picture here…
[Translate]
Who cares?! The Fox doesn’t rock. It’s a joke.
CFMI is where it’s at.
[Translate]
“Oh well…yet another day in the most corrupt province in Canada.”
When did you move to Quebec???
[Translate]
Sorry pal. British Columbia puts Qurbec to shame in the corruption department.
[Translate]
Chez moi? Une bonne province le Columbie Britannique, Non?
Oui?
.. merde..
[Translate]
At least in Quebec they’re trying to do something about it.
[Translate]
If they are doing it by electing a looney premier like they did. Not a good start.
[Translate]
Point taken. I was referring more to Corruption Commission going on right now which I think was going before the election and it’s all being held in public.
[Translate]
Alex…..as we head into the final stretch towards election day, is there a drop dead date AKA point of no return where the acting premier CC can change the election date? 60 days 90 days ?
There must be a point where there’s no turning back.
Thanks
[Translate]
Well, she can technically run right up to the drop of the writ.
Akthough, the longer she waits, the worse it’ll be.
[Translate]
So, where are we now, 24 hours later?
Anyone been to Foster’s office?
Is the news cycle on this one done?
[Translate]
No, instead I called Foster directly.
Stay tuned.
[Translate]
Standing By……
[Translate]
Oh my, this is going to be precious. Sort of like the ‘coming of age’ story whereby your fourth trout fishing expedition with Dad, where he finally says, there you go – there’s your hook – there’s the worms. It’s time you baited your own.

[Translate]
The independent review is PRECISELY what I called for.
As well, I also called for Drex’s firing.
[Translate]
Well we agree on independent review, but after thinking about it, I don’t agree with the firing of Drex.
I’m looking at it as more of a censorship issue.. I didn’t agree with what he asked, but that was his show’s shock jock format, and the Premier knew better.
Perhaps a suspension, or sensitivity training, but loss of his income… no
I just see it a little differently after review.
[Translate]
I think that’s total nonsense.
He was degrading to a woman–period–full stop. In this day and age when we are still fighting against an uneven professional playing field, the last thing we need is idiots making those kinds of statements.
Freedom of speech stops when you cross the line. That it was coming from a shock jock is meaningless.
He asked a disgraceful question and she blew the answer.
[Translate]
I think there would have been much greater value in a more appropriate action.
As a woman, that has experienced this discrimination over an entire lifetime, I feel sensitivity training would have much greater benefit.
Education is the only way to create change, otherwise as a society we will never evolve.
Taking away a man’s livelihood will only serve to exacerbate his ignorance of the issue.
[Translate]
No it won’t.
He was an idiot before that job. And so it remains. You’ve muddied the core issue with a sensitivity to his livelihood.
On this issue, you make no sense.
[Translate]
Sorry Alex, I entered an echo chamber and I couldn’t hear you..
[Translate]
You’ve confused an echo chamber with a forum for the occasionally confused.
I’m surprised you didn’t notice the foul wiff of hypocrisy, courtesy of your own new opinion.
Now you’re stuck and need to be a smart ass.
Good luck with that.
I have two daughters I’m raising and opinions like yours will only make it that much more difficult for their generation of women to survive.
In the past, you lauded my latitude for different opinion. But because I disagree, you change that opinion, too.
Well, let me give you some advice–the same advice you gave other whiners: If you don’t like it here, no one’s forcing you to stay.
[Translate]
It’s certainly not a fair province in any light. Male or female. Several years ago a Fire Chief up in Prince Rupert got an impaired charge. The Vancouver Province ran an editorial calling for the mans head. Blah, blah, blah responsibility to his job, blah, blah, blah young impressionable kids.
Less than a month later Gordo was grinning like a drunken chimp on the front page. Same editors. Blah, blah, blah everyone makes mistakes blah, blah, blah he is deeply sorry and will attend alcohol counselling.
The duplicity of the MSM is revolting.
[Translate]
I’m extremely proud to have told Colin Hansen at the time, that Gordon Campbell should resign.
He didn’t take very kindly to that.
Neither did Gordon.
[Translate]
Colin Hansen is a moron and challenged to tell the truth, even on a good day. We must not forget the HST or “Hansen’s Sales Tax”..
[Translate]
We should have demanded his resignation (and gotten), and nothing less. Man we’re a bunch of sheep. And we got majorly screwed for giving Gordo the benefit of the doubt.
I hope he had a martini in London yesterday to celebrate his 10 year anniversary of getting away with his DUI.
[Translate]
Yes we are, as a whole, sheep to an extent. If the MSM had gone postal on Gordo we would have followed along. If they were doing their jobs on BC Rail/BC Hydro. Consider, if they were doing to the Liberals what they did to the NDP, we’d be happy. Of course that would mean they were doing their job with impartiality, and the herd/pack would be happy and follow that.
Humans as a rule like to run in herds/packs of a similar ilk. I have noticed, on this site as an example, that most of us generally agree with Alex. Yes there are differences of opinion at times, but either few trolls exist or Alex does a great job with the filters. I personally don’t think Alex bans anyone other than for actionable or disgusting comments.
I’ll describe the 250,000 on Rebel as a pack (wolves) rather than a herd (sheep) as I’d like to still believe that we have teeth.
[Translate]
Precisely.
I’ve never tossed anyone (or begged anyone to stay) unless they started to act like it’s their blog, or for, as you say, actionable or offending comments.
It’s simple: You can’t play ‘Happy Asshole’ with me. I won’t take it. I get about three hundred emails every day or day and a half. I have neither the time nor inclination to listen or read bullshit.
Thanks for understanding.
[Translate]
Gordo ‘survived’ because the power brokers ‘covered’ his ass with $$$$$$. They needed him to continue the sale of Provincial assets.
[Translate]
No.
He made three phone calls. One to Marty Zlotnik, one to Dale Pope and the other to Dave Basi.
He got little sympathy from Marty. But Pope and Basi helped him IMMENSELY.

Funny — and deserved — but surprising, considering the “I see nothing” is what we’ve been saying about the MSM for some time.

I also grew up in the same time period, there seemed to be so many good shows on: as you said Hogans Heroes, Red Skelton, Ed sullivan, Carol Burnett, and they were funny, (Tim comway and Harvey Corman were hilarious). I find my self these days wondering why I pay upwards of $200/month for a medium I rarely watch any more. I’d sooner read a book and thats what I do.

I agree. Every year we pay more for more channels but you have to review hundreds of channels and thousands of hours of programming to find any quality. It would probably be cheaper to buy DVDs of Carol Burnett (including Conway and Corman) and Red Skelton , real comedians who could make people laugh without use of 4-letter words.

I have the complete set of ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ and can’t watch enough of it.
Between that and the complete DVD set of ‘Boston Legal’ I’m a happy boy.

Who wouldn’t love to go through life repeating ones name and winning at everything. LOL. Denny Crane as a “deus ex machina” or what?

I say it all the time! I said it during breakfast this morning when I explained to my eldest daughter that an iPad was a scholastic aid and NOT a serving tray.
My youngest daughter piped up, “Daddy, isn’t this when you’re supposed to say, ‘Denny Crane’?”
I think my son, after riotous laughter, is still trying to figure out how to get the last bit of milk to drain from his nose.

ROTFLMAO I love it when fluid comes out of a nose. Glad I’d put my coffee down.

From today’s NP website:
http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/01/11/long-before-milf-interview-christy-frickin-clark-laughed-her-way-through-questions-on-her-looks-and-nudity-in-this-radio-chat/
A story from months ago with Clark indulging on air chat about looks and nudity. With all the public policy issues we have in BC she choose to engage in banter of a sexual nature. This is a woman without a brain, not to be taken seriously as a leader.

But look at the comments and scores. I would have thought the readership would be more intelligent than that.
Does Tim Rice have a bunch of friends clicking up the scores?

Another must read, folks, including the link to Mackin.

An absolute must-read.
Ian Reid is superb. And Mackin is our top investigative journalist.

Here’s yet more on Basi Virk in today’s Times Colonist. Where does it end?

Shame on Krog for not better articulating the issue. Once again, he demonstrates why he shouldn’t be on this file.
Virk should be congratulated for getting on with his life. Why shouldn’t he make money with his parents and wife Amy (who is utterly lovely)???
Why shouldn’t both the Virks and the Basis be able to move on?
They paid their debt to society.
And Campbell’s and Clark’s and Kinsella’s and Reichert’s and the RCMP’S…to say the least…

Barisoff has been a drunken sotting shame to the office of MLA, never mind Speaker, since he was elected. I was in attendance to pick up the pieces when Aaron Dinwoodie made a run at Barisoff for the nomination way back in 2004 and was not-so-politely told by Rich Coleman that everyone right up to Gordon Campbell would take it personally if Dinwoodie continued his course. Barisoff’s lack of attention to detail or constituents other than his backers was well known already, which is why Dinwoodie thought to move his attempt down to Penticton, rather than running aginst Sindi Hawkins in his own riding, whom he respected very much.
Not that Dinwoodie would have been any less a scandal magnet, but he had a few brains, a lot of energy and a good handle on the aboriginal file. Andn for all Barisoff has done, the Ledge would have done better to simply install McMinn in the Speaker’s chair, lock Barisoff out back in a replica of the Birdcages, and poke bottles of scotch through the bars every day.
