(UDATED) Disgruntled Indo-Canadian Christy Clark Leadership Captain With Criminal Past Has Strong Ties to the BC Liberals and the Liberal Party of Canada

How many people think that Jaspal Atwal is an unknown and fringe participant in getting Christy Clark the leadership of the BC Liberals? Go ahead, raise your hands.

Good, no one.

Now, how many think the Premier’s leadership people didn’t actually know about the extensive talents of Mr. Atwal and his incredible abilities in political organizing?

Good, no one again.

Because below, please find what they’ve known since it’s only a matter of open, public record. Notice any patterns?

Some notable highlights of Mr. Atwal’s time in Canada:

1985 – Charged, but acquitted, in the severe beating (with a tron pipe spiked with sharpened bolts) of then future Premier Ujjal Dosanjh.

1986 – On a desolate Vancouver Island road, attempts to kill a foreign dignitary visiting Canada.

1987 – Convicted of attempted murder of a visiting Punjabi Cabinet Minister. Sentenced to 20 years in jail.

1992 – Released after admitting during parole hearing that he was the shooter.

2002 – Became a suspect in a drive-by shooting at his brother’s house, at which point, his parole was revoked. As a result the Indian Government revoked his visitor’s visa to India. His parole was later reinstated, as he was never charged with the shooting.

2005 – He triggered an RCMP probe, when claiming that then Tory MP Gurmant Grewal asked him to write a donation out to Mr. Grewal personally.

2006 – Wished to travel to India, and sought help to get a new Indian visitor’s visa. He declined to contact his own MP in Fleetwood-Port Kells, Nina Grewal, because of the RCMP probe against her husband. Instead, he contacted by then Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh, however, Dosanjh felt that his ability to serve Atwal fairly was impaired by their history. Dosanjh referred Atwal to fellow Liberal MP Don Bell. Bell wasn’t made aware of the details of Atwal’s background with Dosanjh. In July 2006, Bell called the Indian consulate in Vancouver in an attempt to assist Atwal to obtain a new visitors visa.

2006 – Sues Vancouver Sun crime reporter Kim Bolan for defamation, after Bolan simply repeats in her column a judge’s conclusion, that the attempt on Punjabi Minister’s life was “an act of terrorism”–as quoted directly from the court transcript. A further objection is made by Atwal about Bolan’s characterization of him as an “attempted assassin.” The lawsuit goes nowhere.

2007 – Sued by ICBC of participating in an auto-theft scam. Ordered by BC Supreme Court Justice to pay hefty fine.

2010 – Active in Liberal Party of Canada as a strong Surrey supporter and organizer.

2011 – A top Indo-Canadian lieutenant of the Christy Clark leadership bid, demonstrating unusual and exemplary skill in organizing volunteers, gathering huge swaths of memberships and facilitating fluid, key donations.

2012 – Invited to attend budget speech as guest of Premier Christy Clark and her party.

Atwal is former member of the International Sikh Youth Federation–banned by British, Indian, Canadian and American terrorism legislation.

So, for those wondering where I’m going with this (like it’s not obvious):

Christy Clark and her henchmen claim they are “shocked”, shocked I tell you, that Jaspal Atwal was anywhere near the legislature, all while he was a key player in her campaign to become leader of the BC Liberals, and Premier.

Now, before I show you how the Clark campaign clearly used federal Liberal lists throughout the province to draw from, without care of who they were getting–even knowing of backgrounds like Mr. Atwal’s, can the media please decide whether they want to follow the single most important story thus far, this year??? Does the public’s right to know mean nothing to you???

Anyone out there still think this man’s appearance at the budget speech was a simple accident or oversight?  It’s was no accident. He was there as a valued guest.

It’s how Christy Clark learned politics–it’s the federal Liberal way and it’s the BC Liberal way. It doesn’t matter who it is, so long as the memberships match the cheques or cash amounts, we’re good to go. Just like they did during the Paul Martin years.

How stupid do the federal Conservative whores that still support this deceitful, shameless dimbell of a Premier feel now?

UPDATE: An interesting anecdote to this story. I have confirmed that the complaint made to the Speaker’s Office about Jaspal Singh Atwal’s attendance at the Legislature on the day of the budget speech lockdown was lodged by BC Liberal MLA Kash Heed after another BC Liberal MLA, Dave Hayer, first recognized Atwal in the gallery. Heed, whose positions against the RCMP in BC and pro-drug legalization I vehemently disagree with, did the right thing. That took courage and for this I heartily applaud him, and Hayer, who lost his father–a highly respected Sikh moderate, to an assassin’s bullet many years ago. Kudos to both.

But it makes you wonder why either wouldn’t corner the Premier and DEMAND the truth. Same goes for my old buddy Kevin Falcon. He should be fit to be tied over this one. Say what you want about Falcon–I know him. He’s a choir boy in comparison to the evil of Clark’s crew. This sort of thing rattles people like him.

Where is their outrage???

UPDATE #2: The SHAMELESSNESS of the BC Liberal Party knows no bounds. To try to absolve the Premier from responsibility, they have now thrown Tariq Ghuman under the bus. He is one of their field organizers, who has now resigned as a result of this brewing scandal In their effort to stem the bleeding, they have slaughtered a scapegoat. How shameless is that?! The issue here isn’t just that Atwal was at the legislature. It’s that he was a key organizer in the Indo Canadian Community for Christy Clark’s leadership campaign. This resignation is an effort to deflect what’s really going on here and let the Premier off the hook.

But I’m not going to let that happen, I assure you. What a corrupt group.
