Premier Platitude Wastes 90 Minutes of Air-Time on CKNW to Demonstrate Her Complete Lack of Qualifications: Bill Good Shows a Pulse–Twice Only
You mustn’t say I didn’t warn you. Mind, most of you are savvy enough to know that Christy Clark is a coward and went on to ‘The Bill Good Show’ for precisely how Bill treated her.
With kid gloves.
Other than two forays into what could be generously described as somewhat tough questioning, Bill was obviously soft on his pal and clearly unprepared to conduct a robust interview; as was evidenced by the over three dozen lost opportunities to hammer her on either outrageous lies or contemptible fluff, ranging from a phantom jobs plan to falling poll numbers.
Without question, Premier Clark spent the vast majority of the time ducking from commitments, weaving on direction and showing not a hint of vision for the province or its people. All Clark offered were empty platitudes, some nervous giggling–which seems to happen more often lately, but it was the outright lies that were almost unnerving. She’s never had a worse performance, to be brutally frank.
As one prominent member of the MSM put it to me post-interview: “Who is she kidding? Millions in tax credits don’t amount to a tax cut.” And as another put it, but more bluntly: “I cannot believe she wasted the province’s time like that. And Bill had so many opportunities to sink her, but just didn’t know how. What an embarrassment for NW. I think you’re right, they should have told her that it’s either she’s on with Simi and Jon or she can forget it. Where was she going to go? Jack-FM?”
Well, talking about Lady Gaga might have been more her intellectual speed…however, here’s my review.
Off the top–from my notes:
• When she started stumbling and bumbling through her first few lines, my wife, who was riding in the truck with me this morning said: “How can you stand to even listen to her? She sounds so stupid and she’s irritating…trying so hard to make you believe she’s got a brain.” Note: My wife NEVER makes comments about politicians, good or bad, and rarely says anything about politics. In fact she’s the most apolitical person I know. I guess she’d have to be, being married to me…
• The Premier’s opening comment was fraught with spin and, not shockingly, outright lies. Just the fact she persists in fibbing about her non-existent jobs program is stunning enough, but to continue to claim that she had any influence on the Washington Marine Group’s securing the $8 billion shipbuilding contract is absolute insanity. Is she at all well? One of the adjudicators commented to both the Globe and Mail and the National Post that the process was “completely absent of any kind of political influence.” Nothing in the Irving or Vancouver shipyards tipped the scales to either group. Nevis (Quebec) was the only other bidder and was technically insolvent, so they couldn’t carry either contract! BC received the smaller one since Irving is outfitted for the bigger ships that require they be rigged with more complicated arms carry etc. Does Clark not understand this? Is she so bent on lying to the public that she refuses to see? It’s really quite insulting to the intelligence of anyone who can read a paper and understands the anatomy of what really happened.
• For those of you wondering what the devil she was stuttering about at the beginning about family law, she’s trying to take claim for what amounts to a collaborative divorce with children in the mix. This is yet another brazen lie. The concept of this type of divorce was recommended–and started, under the second term of the Campbell government when she was still at NW. It was part of the changing federal family law and a joint provincial/federal effort prompted the changes–Clark had absolutely NOTHING to do with any of it. Dare I venture to ask the obvious: Is this woman nuts?
• First question from Bill Good on the rioters was scripted. You could tell he was reading. But his inability to lance the boil was just painful to listen to. The Preem completely capitulates on cameras in the court room, fumbling something about cameras instead at sentencing. Then she laughed. Why? God knows….
• Good then has a moment of clarity. The second question isn’t as scripted and sounds like it’s actually relevant. The justice system in BC “is in crisis” claims Good (wonders will never cease). 100 cases thrown out Good tells Clark (but doesn’t bother to raise the two dozen courthouses her government has closed and the general gutting of court and corrections services). Clark’s response? Less crime, lesser caseloads. Less court cases. Um, you dimwit, you were just told that. Do you not understand how charges work in this province? Did you not read the newspapers in Victoria over the last 48 hours? Victoria Police Chief Graham is welcoming a review of the charge process, whereby prosecutors vet police evidence and recommend charges based on “a substantial likelihood” for conviction. If the resources aren’t there for full investigations, OF COURSE, the caseload will be less you insufferable idiot. She puts herself on the ropes and what did Bill Good do??? Go to a break. Ugh!
• I looked at my watch. 8:55am. And not a challenging foray in a half hour. Zilch.
• “Are you satisfied that BC Hydro is reigned in?” asks Bill Good. Clark begins the first of several cryptic attacks on Gordon Campbell, muttering something about her predecessor and Hydro’s correction being an “ongoing process.” Then she does it again–and lies about no increased rates. Is she well? The last bank of increases she stopped because there was a real threat of a lynching. But what about the previous two increases?
• In what was perhaps the most comical exchange, Good asks her about her poor polling. She claims there were other polls recently that showed her being up. Um, which ones? By whom? Good didn’t even think to ask, of course. But when he mentioned almost a third of BC Liberal voters going to the Conservatives, she hammers him by asking which poll that was (Angus Reid) and he folds like a cheap lawn chair. Pathetic!
• Wait! One more segment that was equally comical. She mumbled something about “Sam Gagner got eight goals” when trying to feebly explain the (in)significance of polls and how only the election polls count. She referred to governing as “exhibition”!!! One, Sam Gagner is a forward with the Edmonton Oilers who got eight POINTS, not eight goals (the entire sports community would be on fire if anyone did that). Two, governing is akin to an exhibition season?!?!?!?!?! Sorry for asking earlier. She is nuts! Of course, nothing from Bill….except some half-baked retort about how she was using polls to bolster her profile during the leadership run, which she deflected while he sipped a Nyquil martini. Again, barely laid a glove on her.
• Good tries to tag her again, with yet another feather, by raising John Cummins and the BC Conservatives. She not-so-expertly-dances around it by claiming that no one wants to elect the BC NDP. What does Good do? He doesn’t set her straight and explain that she is, in some polls, even with the BC Reform, er, excuse me, Conservatives. Nothing. She gets away with it again.
• Clark tells us she’s simply going to stay the course because “we have a very fragile economy.” Excuse me?! All of last week you told us that we were in good shape because of YOUR government. That the HST hole was only temporary. What happen from Monday to Monday? Dunce…
• Good presses her on CLBC–a crying shame of a mess for some of the most needy in this province, that is made worse by her lying. To his credit, Bill presses her, but just a little, and then reverts to his tub of vanilla. She’s “outraged!” Outraged over the lack of funding! Psst, earth to Christy, you were Deputy Premier when the gutting began. What the hell do you mean “previous government”????? Then, she really outdoes herself and starts yammering on about “underlying problems” with CLBC. Good, still stuffing his face with vanilla, doesn’t press her for what those might be. Not a word.
• 9:20am: Keith Baldrey is already TWITtering, excuse me, tweeting about what a great job Bill Good is doing. Honestly, you can’t make that kind of knuckle-dragging stupidity up…unbelievable…
• Clark is now further stumbling through the interview when she reaches badly, on of her favorite topics: “We promised open and accountable government and that’s why we’ve released all the reviews like hydro…” Um, okay, Bill!?! Oh Bill! Are you still with us, YOU DOLT!? Why did you not ask her one simple question that should be top of mind: If Christy Clark believes in openness and accountability then why is her government, and she specifically, madly placing roadblocks before the Auditor General in his principled quest to get the Basi-Virk settlement documents???????
• Well, at that point I hope the idiots in the Prime Minister’s bailiwick were paying attention–the ones who gifted her the Tim Horton’s photo op not long ago. Clark is oh so slightly pressed by the Vanilla Man about the HST and its continued existence. Guess who she blames for that one? “We’re not in this dance alone, Bill,” she tells Good. So, let’s get this straight: the people I speak to in Ottawa, right up close to the PM, claim they’re waiting for her. It’s been reported several times by the National Post, yet it’s the Tories’ fault??? Honestly, by this point, I was going to start banging my head against the wall for some relief.
• Now,the callers were the best part of he show. NOT ONE CHALLENGING CALL. In fact, I’m told the BC Liberals organized a phone bank. No? Pay attention. The second caller, a fellow named ‘DJ’ is actually one DJ Lawrence, ONE OF HER REGIONAL ORGANIZERS DURING THE LEADERSHIP CAMPAIGN. I’ve known the man forever and if there is anyone in politics who loves to pick the wrong horse, it’s this guy. But he’s been a Clark lickspittle for quite a while. The night of the leadership vote he was siting in the same restaurant I was, adorned head to foot in Christy badges, t-shirts, scarf…it was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. Well, when I confronted him about his clear conflict this morning, he accused me of personally attacking him. What attack you dimwit? A leadership operative and regional organizer thinks it’s okay to call in and launch an attack against the NDP while lobbing a softball at the Premier?! This is the ethical standard you’re dealing with when it comes to Clark insiders. Not one tough call and yet when Simi Sara opens up the lines, dozens upon dozens of calls ALL AGAINST the Premier…hmmmm….does that sound right to anyone? Didn’t think so…
• Good slips in another nugget (the second of only too–I mean you don’t want to work too hard, it’s only Monday) about infrastructure disparity for those paying too much below the Fraser and then fades back into a coma….
• It’s now 9:30am and after telling us that “things take awhile to fix” (whatever that means) for the umpteenth time, the Preem gets to whip her favorite post: teachers. No deals, no money, $165M is available and we’ll see what we’re going to do. Teachers in BC are well-paid, the union wants $2 billion and to get it we have to raise taxes. BC Teachers are the 4th best paid in Canada if you remove a few territories and provinces, whose averages she doesn’t like. No, I’m not kidding. You see where this is all going, right? She’s setting up the teachers for a battle royale and Susan Lambert is so thoroughly, mind-numbingly stupid, she’s going to give it to her. Little sympathy for either side from me, but clearly, the teachers have never heard of chess…
• In response to another question from Bill on why she opts out of the public school system for her son, she tells us that Hamish, her oft political pawn,er, lovable son, attends a private Catholic school because it’s her “choice” and she wanted her son in a “faith-based school”. I know exactly which school he goes to. I drive past it on a daily basis as I’m going to my studio/office. It’s NOT as faith-based as it used to be (not even close) and there are non-Catholics there. She’s full of it. In the child “contract’ it mentions NOTHING of Catholic upbringing anymore (although it does in other parts of the admissions paperwork), it simply states a belief in God is required. She is playing this to the hilt just to save rural ridings, otherwise this is a woman who could remodel Hell with original ideas and leave Lucifer in her wake, howling in appreciation–and envy.
• Another caller (fancy that) ‘Tom” asks her about the by-elections and why she isn’t calling them. Her response, typical of the morning: “I won’t be doing that here, but soon,,” Then, inexplicably, yet another bout of stupid giggling…incredible…
• Clark then goes on about new energy plans for liquified natural gas (all fluff about possible future jobs–no plans, no vision) and repeats the insanity about how her “apprenticeship training credits” were pivotal to landing the shipbuilding contract for Washington Marine. Painful….she STILL doesn’t get it!!!
• Caller “Jane” pitches a beautiful softball about workplace bullying. So Clark drones on and on, without a stitch of shame: she’s the BIGGEST bully around! She bullied us over the HST, she bullied us about polls and choosing the BC Conservatives, now she’s the government’s biggest bully!
• At 9:50am I was already thinking I needed an extra long run. What a depressing state of affairs. She’s so unqualified to be Premier that it’s completely laughable how she pretends she’s so all there and the fake, overbuilt enunciations. God! It’s like listening to a kindergarten teacher talk to her class. Pathetic.
Their interview was a sham. No challenging calls, no challenging questions–with at least one plant, not a word to benefit the people of the province. Just fluff in a naked attempt to bolster her re-election chances. Totally ridiculous. No announcements, no by-election information (or intrigue–the BC Fiberals are, surprise, surprise, polling behind in both), no policy–nada, zip, nothing. Blaming the previous government on things like tolls and then simply saying she’s going to keep them is crazy-making. If you don’t like such policies, remove them while you’re thinking of something new–don’t continue to fleece us! Just like the HST…
Clark is all about pimping her personality. She doesn’t want you listening to her words.
Because if you do, you get how all of you are feeling now…
Just a pathetic, major missed opportunity. The reviews from inside NW are that she was flat, as was Bill.
The reviews from outside are even worse.

UPDATE: I have learned from multiple, appalled sources inside CKNW and from readers’ personal accounts, that Bill Good’s producer’s were actually screening calls for the Premier this morning. THIS IS A DISGRACE! It’s one thing to ask what they want to ask the Preem ,but even then: So what? Just a total journalistic fraud. Shame on Bill Good and his producers for doing that. Calls were dropped if the topic was challenging. Over a dozen and a half callers wrote me that they wanted to talk about BC Rail. In every case, their calls were dropped. What a sham!
Simi Sara doesn’t do that, nor does Jon McComb.

During the interview she said there will be up to five LNG plants in Kitimat.
How will all these plants be powered?
[Translate]
They can’t. We don’t have the power to do it.
It’s a pipedream.
[Translate]
But seasonal IPP power is the solution to all of our problems!… or so we’ve been lead to believe over the last 12 years. They would never lie about that, right?
[Translate]
Right? RIGHT?! LOL!
[Translate]
I could only listen online for one minute, maybe less. Between Premier Snooki’s blathering and Bill Good’s coughing, I couldn’t stand it.
[Translate]
the post have been very thoughtful
did anybody notice one of the first ads were from a group called integrity bc a so called mon partison group to bring integrity back to bc politics.
i wonder if that was a reason crispy seemed rattled ?
[Translate]
Harry wins the observant award… when I heard that my ears perked up… I found the advertising more interesting than the actual 90 conversation.
Except for the conversations about teachers and schools..
Christy made herself very clear, in statements she made in 2003 about Catholic education, when she was minister of education…
It isn’t a good time for Susan Lambert and the BCTF to be negotiating..even though Christy is Anglican she strongly believes in Independent Schools.
[Translate]
Next question… who is Integrity BC.. I tried to view their website, but they ask for all your personal info, then if you want to volunteer before you can wander through…non partisan, ?
[Translate]
I’m looking into them today. I’ll get back to you on that.

Well, I listened to Primpier Clark yesterday and was not disappointed. But then, I expected nothing.
Bill Good showed what an out of touch, over the hill, lightweight he really is and the Primpier confirmed she is politically, ethically and morally bankrupt. She also demonstrated her deft skill of stitching several contradictory, incoherent sentences together.
Does the Primpier not get that when she blames the past administration for current conditions, she is throwing her own caucus under the bus? She also keeps reminding us of the 90s and what that decade cost us. I would like to remind her of BC Place, the Trade and Convention Centre, the Golden Ears Bridge and of course BC Rail.
Her response to the commuter, regarding Port Mann tolls, was nothing short of contempt for the voters.
And, speaking of contempt, I see Campbell, when asked about the current state of affairs in BC was quoted as saying he didn’t follow Provincial Politics. He might as well have said, “well folks, I have this to say about your long term support; I got what I wanted, so up yours.”
Both Campbell and the Primpier have redefined “aloof.”
[Translate]
“Clark then goes on about new energy plans for liquified natural gas (all fluff about possible future jobs–no plans, no vision).” AGT
Let’s look past the next election for a moment BC HypoChristy. If the geological reports are accurate there is an abundance of known shale gas reservers throughout the world — right. Look at the map on page two http://www.eia.gov/analysis/studies/worldshalegas/pdf/fullreport.pdf
and then explain, where the market for BC LNG is going to be?
So before committing billions to frack the hell out of northern BC, build pipelines, LNG plants, Site C, ports etc. and put BC’s environment at risk perhaps some due dilligence is in order rather than your bromide banter and tax payer financed electioneering.
Enough is too much!

After reading your post Alex, and all of the comments, I see one thing that ( on top of all others, but vastly more important ) was left out of Crustys interview ( ? ). There was no discourse or updates about Crustys favorite TV show, Man Answers. Is it still her favorite show ? Has she got crushing beer cans with her tits down to a science yet ? Can she truly catch her farts in a bottle without missing ? Where was her query ” doesn’t everyone watch that show, it’s my favorite ” ?
I think that defines her mental ability better than anything.
Thanks for another great post on the state of the Lieberals and their head Bimbo.

I expect today will be one to remember. Question period will have a little more value than what we’ve just seen. I hope every question is addressed to the premier so she has to answer, or defect to the cabinet minister in charge. Just so we can watch her twitch and stutter, to hear her start and NOT finish three sentences in one breath.
The polls are showing her so much love LOL, Happy Valentine.

Christy really tried to wow BC during her radio appearance, but instead we got Schlock and Blah.

where did the Feb 13 cmments go?

Hi Alex,
Is George Abbott losing it too? I know it’s propaganda time before an imposed contract that has been in the cards since day one, but to suggest as he does in The Province today, that the fact-finder is independent and that an imposed contract will create the faith, trust, and goodwill to create a brighter future is dishonest and deluded in the extreme. Repeating this platform the Campbell & Clark decade will not bring any of the results suggested in this poorly written propaganda piece. Another decade of lawyer battles to prove this legislation unconstitutional too. It won’t take a decade though; I’m sure we’ll see the swift and unfortunate results of this type of leadership. In the ‘Education’ portfolio no less. Where are Carole Taylor Diane Watts who could achieve much better ends for BC students with dignity and ‘class’ (pun intended). All this for a report card and some cash-strapped, morale-stripped staff meetings? How visionary and evolved of George and Christy. That’s exactly how Fortune 500 companies inspire, build, and reward human capital in times when innovation is paramount. While economic research shows that employees will forgo raises to stay in positions where there is a reasonable amount of autonomy and trust in management while working towards meaningful and achievable goals, the lack of trust, autonomy, and respect is the death knell for any organization or work place. Only the mediocre in the middle and the self-serving/career-building/ego-aggrandizing at the top will remain. It’s not rocket science. It is, however, unfortunate as this blog demonstrates so vividly. In politics and media, it’s how things are done. I can only hope and pray that children are our future and that teachers and parents can teach them more and better than what we currently see.
[Translate]
The truth of the matter is that the BC Liberals have starved education in BC. However, the BCTF are a complete embarrassment. Their comportment; the narrative from leadership and some of the more militant members; killing report cards; sending political messages home through students; fighting accountability–these are not the actions of teachers with care and principles.
The government is at fault–complete fault, for skin what they’ve done (or not done!) but the BCTF are eager to pick a fight, to satisfy their political masters in the BC NDP.
Meanwhile, the kids are the pawns in this sickening danse macabre…
[Translate]
I agree and keep wondering when and if someone is going to show some ‘educated’ leadership here. Although I don’t think social service or human development organizations should operate using industrial or business models (except, of course, for the balancing of the books and leveraging of every taxpayer dollar toward worthwhile expenditures), I would say that how things are currently done does not even make good industrial age business sense. ‘Productivity,’ excellence, and maximizing human potential in a post-information age are not possible in conditions of chaos and mistrust. You’re right, it takes highly competent and caring leadership at all levels to step beyond the empty rhetoric and platitudes.
[Translate]
I’ve just read your update Alex re screening on NW… so the calls were screened..this may account for why last night Bill Good was so testy on twitter..
According to twitter everyone loved his show yesterday…well I assume that means everyone that they pre -screened to comment on the show..
[Translate]
Bill Good is a complete embarrassment. A total fool for thinking his interview was anything but a first rate sham.
[Translate]
That first rate sham was an interview?
[Translate]
^ LOL!
[Translate]
Alex – This is a fascinating dissection of the premier’s radio appearance. I agree with you that she was very disappointing in general, and she blew the response to the question on the bridge tolls. I think her inability to understand what a sore point the unfair tolling policy is will lead to the Liberals losing votes and seats in ridings from Surrey to Chilliwack. The Conservatives will take enough votes in many of those ridings to hand the Liberals a defeat. The first big test of that will be the Chilliwack byelection.
One more point worth thinking about — will some Liberal MLAs leave the party before the next election? Several may either go over to the Conservatives, sit as independents, or resign. John Van Dongen and Randy Hawes are the two most obvious ones, but there may be others. B.C. political history shows that the defeat of a ruling centre-right government is always preceded by some government MLAs leaving caucus. W.A.C. Bennett and Tilly Rolston left the coalition government in 1951-52; Don Marshall and Scott Wallace left Social Credit for the Conservatives in 1971-72; several Socred MLAs left the Bill Vander Zalm caucus, and later returned, while many others said they wouldn’t run again. In 1991, Social Credit was routed. It appears that the same will happen to the Liberals in 2013.
Frank Bucholtz, editor, Langley Times
[Translate]
A privilege to have you here, as always.
I completely agree with your assessment.
[Translate]
Forgot a few:
Alan Willams and Garde Gardom along with Pat McGeer left the BC Liberal Party to Social Credit in the mid-1970s. That was not so much as the BC Liberals were troublesome, they saw that Social Credit was the way to go for the 1975 election.
Some Conservatives crossed to BC Social Credit between 1972 and 1975.
Frank has it right. But it won’t be a “win” or “victory” for the Conservatives per se, but more for the NDP. Even in Chilliwack. If Social Credit could lose Cariboo South and even Oak Bay in by-elections, can Chilliwack be that far behind for the BC Liberals? I think not.
If the Conservatives would get rid of their religious head case President and moderate themselves plus dump Randy White, then they would quickly find that many medium blue conservatives would in fact have a new home and actually like the carpet.
Bill VanderZalm himself left the BC Liberal Party to join BC Social Credit (should have stayed Liberal).
Oddly, Al Passerell from Atlin crossed from the NDP to Social Credit in the mid 1980s, but was bumped off in 1986.
As for the Four Horsemen that left Social Credit when The Zalm was Premier, they sat as Independent Socreds for a very brief time, it was a protest move. Did it work? Well, sort of..
But Social Credit went kablooie in 1991, because of.. oh well, let’s not get into that again.
[Translate]
she blew the response to the question on the bridge tolls. I think her inability to understand what a sore point the unfair tolling policy is will lead to the Liberals losing votes and seats in ridings from Surrey to Chilliwack.
========================
The toll question will be a dilemma for any party. How are you going to tell North Shore residents they are going to have to start paying tolls on the LG bridge when the bridge was paid off by tolls decades ago. Talk about losing votes… you aint seen nothing yet.
[Translate]
As far as tolling goes: I think all LM residents should share the burden for tolls, regardless if they’re commuting in from Surrey, North Vancouver, Tsawassen or Coquitlam. Toll all bridges at 50 cents to a dollar per crossing, and dedicate that money solely for road infrastructure and transit.
[Translate]
I have to say, with respect, I’m completely against tolls on anything. We pay more than enough in taxes. If govts cannot manage our fiscal ledger better then they shouldn’t be govt! So much waste and yet they toll us because they are either too lazy, incompetent or incapable of doing their job(s).
No, I say ‘No!’ to tolls–and emphatically so!!!
[Translate]
Totally agree with you Alex. Not to mention the extra costs in outfitting all the bridges with the toll cameras and the costs involved in sending the bills out.
Looks like the initial foray into transponders for the Golden Ears bridge I guess was a flop/waste now that the Port Mann will only require a sticker on a cars windshield.
The fact the government’s poster-child for ineptness and waste Translink manages the tolling should scare all taxpayers.
[Translate]
Complete agreement. I am so sick of people allowing govt to work for their own ass instead of working for the people. It’s sickening.
[Translate]
I can’t help but remember what I found to be a very funny(ludicrous) moment in the interview (sham) yesterday in regards to open government when Christy was quoting Kevin Falcon “just get the darn report out” OMG I so believe that happened. Tell me that one doesn’t make you smile a little bit? Oh Christy?!
[Translate]
Very ludicrous, indeed.
[Translate]
re your update,
this is the time for the ownership of cknw to step in and take swiff and corrective action, thru out the whole station.
if they cannot terminate the people involved they need to re schedule time slots and staff.
and give bill no good the worst possible time slot
[Translate]
No such luck.
Bill’s producers have been doing this forever. It’s an effort to protect him. Rebecca Scott started this when she was his producer, because as Bill’s performance started to slip into the sewer it sits today, the calls became more challenging for him.
To be sure, the screening was also an effort to protect Christy from tough calls, and ultimately, being accountable. It’s really quite a problem over there with Bill’s crew. Neither Simi’s producers nor Jon’s producers would commit to such dishonesty, but Bill’s producers need to protect him from scrutiny. That’s the real reason. Shielding the Premier was a bonus.
[Translate]
all the more reason for the ownership to clean up the b s ,perhaps offer you a time slot. . how ever bill and his staff have to go.
if another station was to switch format and go against bill head to head . bill would be gone fast
[Translate]
He’d be done in a heartbeat.

Oh, Christy. I have visions of someone penning a popular theme song that all British Columbians could rise up and sing spontaneously at public events. It could be a rousing and railing little ditty that unites all the premier’s peeps and could be broadcast by the very ‘tight-knit’ media community to show how very inspirational this populist leader has become. (No journalistic need to examine why). Nothing too flashy either. Just folksy fun. Minnie Pearl-esque!?

Thought of The Day
“A little bit of Christy in my life… a little bit of Christy by my side… a little bit of Christy is all I need … a little bit of Christy is what I see… a little bit of Christy in the sun… a little bit of Christy all night long… a litle bit of Christy here I am … a little bit of you makes me your man. BC Rail Mambo – No.5!”
One has to love Alex G Tsakumis in order to love… Alex G Tsakumis!
“Oh well, my offer still stands. $100,000 in her lawyer’s trust account for a debate between me and her over her involvement in the sale of BC Rail. If I lose she gets every penny for her next campaign.
But if I win, she leaves public life for good. A standing offer to you Christy. You say you have nothing to hide about what you did with Bornmann, Basi, Kieran, Virk etc. Then let’s do it. C’mon…nothing to fear.”
After reading this… I think I’m in love.
I dunno how Christy could refuse such a Valentine.
It’s not just you Alex, it’s me too…
We live in Vancouver and this keeps us busy.

Bill actually said on his show today that the callers were not screened , i could hardly believe what i was hearing
[Translate]
Bill Good is either stupid or a liar.
The evidence is in: Both!
[Translate]
Hey! Bill is probably right on the screening issue. HE doesn’t screen HIS minions do plain and simple. Change the name of the programme to the Bill Good Gong show. (sorry about that)
[Translate]
Hmm, the Bill Gong Show…has a ring to it, no?
Well, at least there’d be truth in his advertising…
[Translate]
Gotta point out the double standard:-) If Bill had wanted some tough questions, he could have asked the NDP or even the Conservatives

Hey Glissando Remmy – Is that #5 ORANGE?
Lots of polls there that may be a bit more favourable to “Crusty Crotch”…
Maybe not.

I always disliked the #5. Too hardcore and not a safe part of town to be parking my car.
Hell, the Penthouse is ten times better.
[Translate]
yes alex i am sober
i want to give kudos to the bc goverment for appointing a seniors advocate. is a start there is still a lot to work out.
lets take this all astep further and appoint an advocate with vast powers for those who are disabled in bc
the goverment contracts programs with various non profits for people who live with disabilities
at this time there is no effective recourse if an issue arises.
you do not need a study just take seniors report and remove the word senior and insert the word disabled .
and ensure that all service providers are accountable
[Translate]
I think that it could be a good idea in principle, but I’d need to see how she maps it out. Short on specifics at the moment.
[Translate]
alex , it is early days
i will not stop advocating for change i made a promise to a lady who was assaulted and emotionaly harrased by staff of a non profit

And I applaud you for doing so! You’re a very decent man.

In question period , when asked about the cameras on riot court change of policy by the justice ministry after the judges decision she went on saying something about continuing to pursue her camera in court agenda. Wow, she is out of touch. The rest of the questions addressed to her were all answered (with BS) by someone else. She CANNOT put one sentence together without reading from a script in front of her.

It’s deJong driving the whole thing. It was always his baby and she’s only spoken to Falcon thrice since becoming leader. The real Deputy Premier is Mike deJong. The guy who cut the deal inside the Indo community to make her Premier, the guy who continues to fill her head full of crap.
Well, more of the same that’s already in her head…

This whole thing just reeks of desperation. It does not augur well for the province, even considering that we have the best kind of government in Ottawa at a time of world recession.
It is obvious that some kind of coalition will be necessary, not by preference, but because the alternative is just too nasty to even conceptualize. The last thing needed at this time, is a socialist regime to raise taxes to dizzying heights, and chase all entrepreneurial talent out of the province again. It goes without saying that any attempt to organize anything of the sort, would be met with an alternative activist camp somewhat on the order of the “Occupy” group, the denizens of which would be generously subsidized by my union dues. Might I suggest they be called the “Tea Party” ? Not the type envisioned by Sarah Palin, but rather the kind first defined by the author of “Alice in Wonderland”.

Um, Sir Lawrence, the’Tea Party’ is already tainted by Caribou Barbie. Not a good name…

Yes I know, I am suggesting that any activist groups opposed to said coalition be called the Tea Party; and tainted would be putting it lightly. Sorry I didn’t make myself too clear there.

Not at all. Just wanted to make sure…

Priceless broadside leveled at “Giggles” today by a New West Provincial Court judge: “On one ruling out of New Westminster, B.C., Judge Daniel Steinberg called the current state of the provincial court in B.C. “abysmal.”
“There are no amount of press releases or talk show appearances that are going to fix the over-stretched limits of our institutional resources,” Steinberg said in a ruling posted Wednesday on the provincial court website.
“There is only one course of action that will fix the current situation and that is action, not words.”
BINGO !

THIS JUST IN: Chris Olsen is no longer part of Crusty’s (lack of) communication department. I wonder how fat and juicy his severence was. Has he run back to CTV yet begging for his old job back?
[Translate]
No, he’s done. A stupid move on his part to leave anyway. He was totally unqualified and after manhandling Marisa Thomas last week, I’m not surprised.
