How Do You Spell Cowardice? G-O-R-D-O
I’m not going to spend a great deal of time on this one since the story tells itself.
Gordon Campbell is a coward–pure and simple. After his pals in government gift-wrapped his ‘Order of BC’ and bent the rules–to breaking, he didn’t have the courtesy to show up, knowing full well the embarrassment he’d have to endure at the hands of outraged British Columbians. I suspect they’d have numbered in the tens of thousands and run Victoria into full-on gridlock.
Now we learn that Campbell was requesting a private investiture. What a candy-assed milksop! After screwing the province for ten years, he angles a plum appointment to London but doesn’t have the testicular fortitude to show up and face the music??????
What a breathtaking coward! No words can be located to describe the contempt for this man.
Here is the superb story written by two of my favorite journos; Justine Hunter and Ian Bailey. Kudos to them.

I’m sorry if he wants a private ceremony, but if he can’t take the lumps….. boo hoo.
He either waits until next year or he doesn’t get it. How hard is this for him to understand? He’s not physically ill unless you count a cirrhotic liver…..
[Translate]
So sad…he was never like this. Something went off in that man’s head. He’s insane.
[Translate]
You’re 100% on the mark. It’s like during the last few years a switch flipped or some wires crossed in his head….. and BOOM.

what next for gordo? Vicroria Cross.I read the Article this morning, and it just boggled my mind, when he asked when can I wear it ,or add it to his letters. What a joke he has made to the award. I would think it would be a metal that would bring Honour and respect to the wearer. Now in my mind it brings contempt to the Metal. I guess one should feel sorry for that AssH##e. But I find I can not. Cheers
[Translate]
Actually if he put the letters as you suggest, ASSHOLE, next to his name, no one would be surprised or think it inaccurate.

I’d recommend that everybody open the link, read the article and at least one page of comments to it. Alex’s comments seem like ones made by a quire boy. Have fun! BTW, Gordo is an utter disgrace to this province and his OBC a gross and bitter insult to the intelligence of its inhabitants.
[Translate]
Speaking of links, did you guys see this?
Talk about backpedaling, Gordo…. or are you too many sheets to the wind to remember all your pro environment crap?
Yeah, thanks, buddy.

Read this in a reader’s comment on the Globe and Mail piece by Justine Hunter and Ian Baily — sadly it rang true for me:
“The OBC is an award sponsored by the “right kind of people” to honour those that saw it “their” way. ”
There are some fine people who in the past have been rightly honoured, but I am afraid that’s just window dressing.
The bigger disgrace is the Chief Justice of the BC Court of Appeal Lance Finch, chair of the OBC award committee, excusing his committee’s award to Gordon Campbell while he was still a sitting MLA, as being technically within the rules.
Yup, the world is their oyster… for now.
[Translate]
The Chief Justice’s explanation is bunk. Just because he’s the Chief Justice doesn’t make him right automatically and certainly not all the time!
Campbell’s appointment WAS NOT technically valid. I don’t want to go over it again, but it, at the very least, fell into a gray area which should have had his turn postponed to next year.
[Translate]
Read the link. Makes me want to puke. The sheer arrogance.
Marty
[Translate]
I just can’t believe he’s so incredibly daft as to believe an email like his wouldn’t get leaked or be the subject of an FOI.
And the sheer arrogance of the man. It’s breathtaking, truly.
[Translate]
Part of me thinks that maybe, just maybe, since he’s been over there, he really doesn’t give a rat’s ass what people think of him over here. Almost like a slap in the face to us serfs.
But like you said, it’s like a switch flipped in his head. It’s only the last few years has he been this much of an arrogant horse’s ass.
[Translate]
While it may have gotten worse in the last few years it’s always been there.
[Translate]
Well, SH, it’s certainly not the first slap in the face to us serfs.
Well within character for ol’ Gordo
[Translate]
It is indeed.
[Translate]
You are way too hard on Mr. Campbell… Of course he should have a private investiture. It would hardly be appropriate fro him to appear in public
As always, he is putting the province first… in this case, his number one concern is,of course, avoiding the costs to to taxpayers another Vancouver style riot would incur.
[Translate]
What as I thinking!? LMAO! Great point.
[Translate]
Hopefully we won’t be fooled again
[Translate]
One lives in hope…
[Translate]
It all makes me wonder if he was sent away, like a remittance man.
“A Remittance Man was called that because most received a scheduled remittance or allowance from their families. These payments were often made in order to keep the man away from Britain where it was thought he would cause problems for his family.”
Perhaps his state of mind is/was such that he couldn’t be trusted to keep his mouth shut and not hurt some very powerful people (the family) here.
[Translate]
I’m not sure. I doubt it. Not even he could do that.
[Translate]
I am not surprised at all. Nothing he or his successor do surprises me at all. Too bad, I would love for them to totally blow my socks off surprise me by doing something that is best for the majority of the people in the province, and then not insisting on a photo op of themselves congratulating themselves for getting something right for once. Sigh, won’t happen though.
[Translate]
Don’t hold your breath.
[Translate]
You’re the last person I would think would get the contraction “you are” mixed up with “your”. Or was it just a typo?
[Translate]
Thanks, I fixed it. You have no idea how I’m suffering through this stupid new software. I almost tossed my laptop for the top floor yesterday. It’s sometimes making automatic corrections!!! Dumb, dumb, dumb! And annoying. Thanks for this, I wouldn’t have picked up on it. So damned busy too. Much appreciation.

Gordo; Asshole.
That about sums it up. A reward well deserved.

So Gordo thinks he can pull another quick one on us…
…and why wouldn’t we? After all, we’ve let him get away with so much before!
We let him sell the assets to BC Rail to CN with hardly a wimper after he made a campaign promise not to.
He drove drunk in Maui (and may have had a certain mistress in his passenger seat at the time)…we accepted his teary eyed apology and didn’t pursue it any further.
The Legislature gets raided by the RCMP and records get seized in relation to the BC Rail sale and the Basi-Virk scandal. We object viamently, but the court trial gets delayed for 3-4 years, and is called off when Basi and Virk get a very generous settlement in order to plead guilty. People are pissed, but at the end of the day, the people of BC move on begrudgingly.
He forces the HST on the people of BC when he made a campaign promise that “no new taxes were on the table” prior to getting re-elected in 2009. The people spoke via referendum, and although logically it wasn’t the best idea, we voted the unfairly implemented tax down.
He pillaged and looted ICBC and BC Hydro and made sure his friends and business associates get their pockets nicely lined before he flew off in the sunset to jolly old England.
I hope the bastard is forced to come back to BC to receive his tarnished Order of BC, and that the people REALLY show him how pissed off we are after 10 years of lies and deceit!!!
(and I still blame the MSM for being passive lying dogs, instead of doing their damn jobs and getting to the bottom of the story)

Superb comment.

The Roman emperor Nero married his male slave Sporus in a public ceremony, while Emperor Caligula was so proud of his horse that he gave the animal a place as a senate consul before he died!

You owe me a new pair of Keithmoor pants. Reverse pleats and size 38 thanks.
I laughed so hard I turned into a puddle….ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

Oh well – nobody mentions the elephant in the room- Stephen Harper. WHY on God’s green earth did he reward this dick with a gravy boat and a bag of plums? There is no excuse for giving an obviously corrupt, arrogant shit ticket like Campbell the “job” he was given. If Harper was serious about his pet crime bill, this stands out as a good starting point, but there appears to be little or nothing in it dealing with white collar crooks. Instead of investigating the stench that raises from Victoria , he rewards it. Go figure.
[Translate]
I have said this several times. The appointment was originally something TWO senior Harper staffers were completely against. It got passed–barely, through backchannels and was presented to the Prime Minister as a fait accompli. I cannot go any further than that without betraying a MAJOR confidence.
And the only reason I know about it is because of my outrage when I called to complain. Remember, I’d heard High Commish to India for Gordo and that’s what te original idea was.
He should have NEVER been appointed to anything.
[Translate]
Then rescind it and fire the fools who presented it that way.The PMO has that power and to do nothing is disgraceful and shows that it’s just the same old shit, presented by the same Old Boys Club and looks no better than what the Liberals have been doing. There is NO EXCUSES for kicking British Columbians in the nuts like that. None.
[Translate]
You can’t rescind it at this point. It would cause a major stink.
I get your point and don’t disagree. It was a major mistake.
[Translate]
Sorry, I get cranky after a 6 mile run.
[Translate]
Understandable.
