Finally a Poll that Tells the Truth: Christy Clark’s Honeymoon is Over and She’s Sinking Like a Stone
I forced myself to listen to Bill Good lob just embarrassing, infuriating softballs at his former colleague this morning. Twice he sounded like he was going to go after her and twice he backed down. What a sham of a show he runs.
Once again, Christy Clark put on a display that will surely lose her even more support. The interview was pathetic and out of the first bank of calls she heard NO SUPPORT.
It also, parenthetically, has me wondering why she wasn’t on with Simi Sara or Jon McComb? Well, perhaps I shouldn’t be waxing rhetorically about questions I already know the answer to. The afternoon on NW is bereft of any appearances by the Premier because Simi and Jon would make mincemeat of her.
Regardless, the new poll shows why her backers pushed her to call off an election. The honeymoon is over and her personal numbers are half of what they were just a short while ago (something I predicted months back–that’s why her friends in the polling business haven’t released a single poll in ages). And Adrian Dix, while trailing her, isn’t that far behind, considering he’s a relative unknown.
This is very bad news for Ms. Clark no matter how she wants to spin it. People are really tired of her and realize there is a completely unqualified and totally dishonest woman sitting in the Premier’s chair.
At one point with Bill this morning, she refused to take ownership of her party’s mistakes including the half billion boondoggle of a stadium roof! How do you think that feels if you’re a sitting MLA or Cabinet Minister? This woman has no shame whatsoever. She even repeated the incredible lie about calling off the election “because of a fragile economy.” Look, I know a few of the very powerful people in the room who told her to call it off and that she had until March of next year to turn things around or they would find her another job in the private sector.
The Conservative numbers were interesting though: Down significantly from previous polls but still enough buoyancy to guarantee a split vote in key constituencies. Too bad John Cummins doesn’t listen. In the one conversation I’ve ever had with him, months ago, I told John that the only way I could see him neutralize his throwaway vote in the last election would be by making the call to all disaffected BC Liberals to join him for a better British Columbia. Not to do as he did and mark one for the NDP, but to have a real alternative. Simple messaging and effective. I posed it in a question, so as not to seem like I was proffering unsolicited advice. He just nodded. And he’s sat on his hands right through the negative ads by the BC Fiberals and the election of bigoted Pastor Reed Elley as his party’s President. That’s not leadership either.
After the interview, I sat quietly in my study and came to this very sad conclusion: This province is really bereft of leadership. In Vancouver, we are led by a full-on socialist dimwit that is simply the lead suit in a movement designed to HURT people that aren’t willing to believe in the folly of ‘green’. And in Victoria, we are led by a feckless, lying, dishonest, unqualified woman that believes that her hyper-sexualized, perma-campaign appearances instead of real policy and care for the people she claims to care about, are the order of the day. It’s clearly all she knows how to do. Have a listen to the Bill Good show from today. Go to the NW archives and listen to a clearly unintelligent fool make an even bigger fool of herself.
And this is where it gets really sad: With such a dearth of leadership to draw from, where is that idealist kid sitting in the reading room of some university, like Trudeau, Chretien and Mulroney did? Where is that young man or woman, who sees all around him or her crumbling and is inspired to live a life that will one day lead to helping their fellow man with a hand up? To generational change? To better days?
Where would they find such inspiration to reach higher and stand taller; to believe that THEY could improve the lives of millions? That they could make a difference…
Sad, isn’t it?

(a) I’m surprised the honeymoon lasted this long
and (b) she’s lucky someone will give her a job in the private sector. 99.5% of us don’t have that luxury.

A parallel might be California electing a pair of biceps as governor.

Classic.

If you are speaking of Premier Blanche Devereaux, at least she was good looking.
HAH!
[Translate]
Alex, why do you torment yourself by listening to the Bill Good social hour? The result was predictable and you could have written this post without listening to the show.
[Translate]
Because one day, sooner than you think, while lots in the MSM mock me I’ll get my shot at the title.
And I study my opponent like a good champ. I have something Bill will never have: Knowing how to take a shot and keep going.
It’s like this.

Soon…

Thanks for the insight. I am disgusted by the manner in which this provincial government operates – especially taking from and abusing the most vulnerable in order to feather their own nests. The premier’s defense of her liberal government’s actions showed the true character of her self-serving government.
[Translate]
well i listened as i shaved and i cut myself.
i talked to a dear friend who is a liberal , he thinks if she stays to march the liberals are toast, he is also saying that a group of m l a will leave the party and either sit as independent or join the bc conservative party.
this winter will be very interesting
[Translate]
She’s done.
[Translate]
It was embarrassing to hear her; just pathetic and slimy. I’m also embarrassed for her supporters because of what their advocacy says about them. Not a great way to start the day this morning…
[Translate]
I had the misfortune of having my IQ brought down a few points this morning when CC called into The Fox. Her airhead blathering had me ready to vomit up my breakfast. Even worse, the three hosts took turns giving a tongue bath to her rear end. I wasn’t expecting them to call her to task for her and her government’s many misdeeds, but the amount of praise they heaped on her was disgusting! She may have been fun to play Third Person Thursday with when she was a host at NW, but everyone in BC needs to wake up and start calling our Premier on her BS.
[Translate]
There’s a reason why you’re one of my favourites…
[Translate]
I wonder how “jiggles” announcement of the new stat holiday would have changed the poll results? I’d like to think we’re more enlightened than that but you know how fickle the BC electorate is.
[Translate]
Not a stitch of difference since it will cost us plenty.
[Translate]
That holiday … I was expecting the usual “oh goody another day off” reaction, but in fact every single discussion I’ve heard about it so far has basically gone (1) it’s an added cost (2) we don’t really need another holiday. And some of this has come from public employees.
[Translate]
I think people like our unelected Premier and Bill Good give credence to The Peter Principle as they have both risen to the level of their own incompetence.Maybe it’s the whiff of her perfume that causes Bill to lose any credibility as a ‘newsman” when in her aura.Jeez Louise Bill Get a grip or find a new job.
[Translate]
True enough.
[Translate]
I dont intentionally waste my valuable time listening to CKNWs Prime Time pap anymore.
With Phillip Till’s grating guffaws at his own corny “jokes’ to be followed by the Bill Good Soft Boiled Egg Show, NW has lost this listener.
Gone are the days of Frosty Forrest, et al. I listen to the news and switch channels, that it for NW. One wonders what their market share has fallen to over the past few years. What ever it is they only have themselves to blame…..
Time for a real radio station with some integrity? Or is independant radio truly dead……… Long live the internet.

Frosty was the absolute BEST morning man ever. I bet he’d still be doing it if the tin men in the black tower had any brains.

What a beautiful reply.
Truly. I didn’t even think of that. But from one hog jockey to another: Ride long and ride free brother.
[Translate]
To quote someone else, the reason Christy shows off all that cleavage in the legislature is to get her points across. Sadly thats all she has to offer voters.
[Translate]
So true. So sad.
[Translate]
Hello Alex,
I find your website and readers’ comments an eye-opener. While I know little of parliamentary procedures is there not a way that an earlier election can be forced upon the Liberals?
[Translate]
Yes. If enough of their disgruntled MLAs sit as independents and join with the NDP in a vote of non-confidence against the Govt. The Govt falls and an election is forced thus.
[Translate]
I’d love to see that happen, actually.
I know a lot of people are crying “election burnout” but it might actually be a good thing to happen.
[Translate]
There should be no “disgruntled” MLA’s in the Liberal party. Lets not forget Alex They LOST their right to be disgruntled when they sat and did NOTHING while the province was raped by Gordon Campbell.
They are finally realizing the elected an “peter principled” leader (lol) as their leader and now regret it. How thick can people be? Was it not clear what Christy Clark is really about (herself) and what she brings to the table (nothing)?
Its almost, but not quite as stupid as inviting everyone to a party on the streets of Vancouver for a 7th game Stanley Cup Final and not making adequate preparations for a potential riot – when the last time we had a 7th game Stanley Cup Final we DID have a riot. Spectacular stupidity.
There is no grace for any MLA that was an elected official during the Gordon Campbell years – none. If you voted with the premier for things like the HST and you sat and did nothing with the BC Rail issue, you are finished as far as I’m concerned. The MLA’s Campbell era inaction make them unfit to lead our province.
There is no scenario that allows me to vote for any party that has Liberal or former Liberal MLA’s in its party.
I could not vote NDP (so I hope disgruntled Liberals go there), Conservatives – they’ve already made one big mistake, being a safe haven for disgruntled Liberals MLA’s would be another and for me a terminal mistake.
I don’t think the Liberal party in BC understands the level of animosity that they are facing. The level of disdain in BC is palpable, and if we go into a recession prior to the next election (which is likely) the anti Liberal result will be spectacular.
JB
[Translate]
There are a few BC Liberal MLAs I would keep if rebuilding the party–but very few.
[Translate]
How long will it take to purge the ones that up-graded themselves under the watchful eye of Harper to the Senate, the Supreme Court and High Commissioner?
The Supreme Court one could be excused as she probably was told what was happening and had no choice, as Harper and the now High Commissioner most likely set it up.
I couldn’t agree more with Mr. J Bourne. Most were Campbell boot lickers and will soon get what they deserve. They can call themselves what they want, but we all know who they really are.
[Translate]
The last half of your comment I get and appreciate. The first half belongs on the Jesse Ventura show ‘Conspiracy Theories’.
[Translate]
The con spiracy at play would have been between Harper and Campbell as well as Harper and Neufeld wouldn’t it? Since you brought up Con Spiracies. And my question was how long will it take to purge them? And the ones currently in power? Shouldn’t we all be conspiring on that?
[Translate]
There was nothing between Harper and Campbell. It was arranged by two other people. One of the Prime Minister’s people tried to intervene and it didn’t work. The deal had already been done.
I cannot go any further without betraying a confidence, I’m sorry.
[Translate]
Good read Alex. We, the great unwashed out in the hinterland don’t have the dubious luxury of listening to Bill Good (or any of the others for that matter). However, having seen Snookie’s handling of the question put to her about MLA pensions, I can only imagine what her performance was like on the air. It’s really too bad about Bill. He used to be very good. Now he’s just a joke.
As for Snookie – good luck in the private sector. All the janitorial jobs are taken. She’s not qualified for anything else (that’s legal).
Have a great weekend.
[Translate]
Too funny. Thanks! And you!!!
[Translate]
Here’s the link to the Bill Good show webcast you can listen in your hinterland http://www.cknw.com/Channels/Reg/News/TheBillGoodShow.aspx. You haven’t lost anything by not listening to her “profoundly” nonsense blubbering however.

Also, I believe you can catch NW on any PC or laptop.

Completely off topic.
I think, if a hobo where to label Vancouver, he would use the 2nd set of signs, 2nd row, 2nd column.

The socialist dream fulfilled – postpone all elections because of a “fragile economy”.

The silly stunts pulled by Gregor in Vancouver are not “green” they just cost green. Conservative is part and parcel with conservation which is what the BC Green Party is supposed to provide. Leadership is an issue for that party now though too.
Sadly with the Liberals in charge they have thrown even potentially good policy like tax reform (harmonizing sales tax) in to bad though piss poor implementation. Then they tore apart Hydro under the guise of being “green” so that they could give green to their friends.
Rafe and Damien are right on the money over at Common Sense Canadian but they support a party that leads only in the polls and nowhere else. I cannot even claim to do that we don’t lead in the polls or indeed at all.
The BC Conservatives are no hope either.
This is bleek and I am simply too busy with municipal politics, farm development and a new baby to do much.
Something has to give sooner or later.
[Translate]
The fact she polled higher than her party explains why her name is on the new party logo on the website.
[Translate]
Yes, but not by much. In the general scheme of things she and her party are in trouble.
She’s personally leading Adrian who is a relative unknown–by not a great margin. And her poll had been halved. She did it. Not good.
[Translate]
Now I know what CC stnds for
C – Cup !! hahhah
[Translate]
Hysterical again.
[Translate]
Today’s nudge-nudge-wink-wink grilling of Christy Clark by Bill Good was just one more non-event served up by the host. It sounded like nothing more than an hour-long informercial sans revenue to Corus’ bottom line.
Other than her usual blather, the thing that made me the most annoyed was her constant references to the previous administration regarding pretty much everything that is either going sideways or down the toilet. Last I checked, we have not had a general election since she won/stole the leadership of the BC Liberal Party, now known as the BC Christy Party. If I’m not mistaken, the only face that has changed since the last general election is hers for Gordon Campbells. All of the things that she is trying to distance herself from are still the responsibility ofr the rest of her caucus and will remain so until she secures her own mandate, which I believe is highly unlikely.
Totally unrelated, has anyone seen or heard from Colin Hansen lately? Was he abducted by aliens?

Yes, saw him walking in Dunbar wearing. ‘Jesus Saves’ sign.

My condition is worse than I thought. Having to work in order to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table, and pay the ever-increasing taxes, I cannot afford the luxury of taking time away from my work to listen to Bill Good and premier wannabe HypoChristy Clark (PWHCC) wax pathetic on air. But what do I do? I go to the CKNW Audio Vault when I get home from work and listen to the entire performance. How sick is that?! Why am I compelled to inflict such pain and suffering upon myself? Please make it stop
Good had several opportunities to prove he has the stones to set his affections aside and ask the tough questions, but he was so focused on reading from his script and following his question and answer flowchart to recognize an opportunity (and there were several) when it presented itself. If Good had a pair, and even just a minuscule degree of journalistic integrity, PWHCC would not have walked away with her inflated ego and delusions of grandeur still in tact.
Case in point. When PWHCC was going on about her unilateral decision to create the Office of the Municipal Auditor General of BC “to make sure municipal governments are spending their money well,” why didn’t Good ask about the Provincial Auditor General’s recent condemnation of her government’s taciturn and untoward accounting practices??? It was a line questioning that was SCREAMING to be asked. Or he might have asked, was the 6 million dollars of taxpayers’ money paid to Basi’s ‘n’ Virk’s lawyers money well spent?
Pathetic really.
PWHCC is delusional and BG is a boob. Two boobs are enough for anyone at any one time, but three boobs at once? Enough is too much!

Vancouver Real Estate = Drug Money
Generation Screwed has been taught to leave not lead, to be changed not to enact change, to quit and not fight for what is right, what is just, what is good.
The lessons that Generation Greed, hippies on pseudos philosophy have taught, is this:
Ethics are an optional class at school for easy credits, not a guideline to live by. Morality is not an aspiration for conduct but a punch line at the power lunch.
What British Colombia inspires in its future leaders, is to leave. For what is the point to stay while generation greed sells off our future, our jobs, our homes, and opportunities. Lies to our faces, demands that we fund from our future their extravagant life style today.
We know what generation Greed’s ultimate question has been all along, and it is this; “Is it possible to take it all with you once you die”?, They have proved that not only is it possible, but in fact, you can take a lot more than just everything, you can take everything plus more.
While the real hero’s of Canada died in a foreign wars, in foreign countries to up hold the values of enlightenment of the Western world forever destroying the demographics of Canada. The dregs of society assumed leadership roles, and sold out Canada, British Colombia and humanity to the most base of human conduct, selling your children into poverty and slavery for nothing more than shinny beads, firewater and techno jewellery.
There is no future here that is worth fighting for. Generation Screwed, we are dead, we just have not realized it yet. We are nothing more than Zombies infected by the sins of generation greed, condemned to a future not of our own making. Accept it, or leave it, and the smart people have left. Defeat: Is when you keep trying, not realizing you have already lost. When your actions just keep digging you a deeper, and deeper hole, in the hopes that you can get out of it. Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic did not stop the ship from sinking. Getting to a life boat did save some lives. Where is your life boat? Because word up British Colombia is sinking and sinking fast.
The only thing growing in British Colombia is crime and corruption.

Where is that young man or woman, who sees all around him or her crumbling ?. waiting for the inevitable collapse of neoliberalism .watching the destruction of the world by rich greedy pigs. waiting for the realization helping your fellow man is more profitable. That kid is out their some where . waiting for the final nail in the coffin of Reganomics .
[Translate]
Good gawd man, give it a rest.
Capitalism is not about greed. It’s the human condition. It’s why socialism doesn’t work. There is always someone who will want and get more. Heard of a chap named Castro? C’mon, there are lots of examples of unrestrained greed on both sides of the political aisle. Reaganomics worked, to and extent. But again, there was someone (or group of someones) that went too far.
Tell me: How many people in Cuba or China (in the majority of the country, which lives in relative squalor to the wealthy enclaves in Kowloon and Shanghai) would accept your premise, that a non-capitalistic, socialist world would work?
Don’t strain yourself.

Alex, 2 things Bill neglected to pick up on.
1) A source told me that the “proposed hydro rate increase” was to pay for the electricity cost (contracts) from the I.P.P.’s. In other words hydro has no additional money to pay for the cost, so they had to go to the consumer. This has nothing to do with repairs or upgrades to existing infastructure.
2) At 17.08 minutes into Bill’s first audio vault segment, Crusty mentions that the new RCMP building in Surrey is a 1 Billion dollar project.
I know the building in question but,
My question to you or MSM is, Is that the actual cost?, If so why so much?
Is this another “on time and on budget” construction site or a convention site cost over run?
Something smells fishy with this government.
Have a good long weekend and don’t eat to much turkey.
[Translate]
1) That’s absolutely correct. One of my sources inside BC Hydro confirmed this to me some time ago. I’ve written about it, though not as extensively as I would’ve liked to. Too many topics to choose from and catch up on.
2) She’s stretching once again. The entire complex which includes community amenities is a one billion dollar project. Not just the RCMP facility. She’s, as per usual, wrong on the details. Or simply lying, her forte, take your pick.
Everything smells fishy about this govt.
Thanks, you too. I won’t. We’re having lamb.

Just listened to sean leslie and guest’s talking about Christy’s cleavage, man that sean is nearly as bad as Bill Good, as a matter of fact i think he IS a liberal as@ kisser just like Bill. I phoned in and started to make my comment and sean cut me off . What a pr@ck he is. Alex do you know if he reads your blog?
[Translate]
I’ll be doing a post on this. I listened to the whole thing. Sean’s program today was some of the most disgraceful programming I’ve ever hear on NW. Alise Mills is a complete fool.
[Translate]
Hi and thank you for your blog. I only discovered it recently but will be back regularly.
[Translate]
Very welcome. Welcome aboard.

Sean Leslie is a disgrace,a fool, and a complete joke , him and Bill must compete to see who can suckhole to there mistress Christy the most ,Sean is disgusting

I have never heard him run such a poor show. Alise Mills’ despicable, outrageous comments were so beyond the pale, it was stunning. David Schreck should resign from the show is protest. What a sham. That’s good radio?!
[Translate]
Alex, please do a piece on smart meters, smart grid etc so we all can get some proper pespective.
I am most interested in the difference between the Liberal governments directives to Hydro and following the money.
I truly believe in the new technology and i think, again, Hydro was hung out to dry by the Liberals.
Looking forward to your perspective,
[Translate]
You can bank on it.
[Translate]
How ironic … on the one hand you rip yet another new asshole for Gregor Robertson and without pausing to take a breath you then quickly ask : “where is that idealist kid …(that) is inspired to live a life that will one day lead to helping their fellow man?”
[Translate]
Precisely. And where is the problem in that? Unless you are making the INSANE contention that I am responsible for outing Mayor’s Moonbeam’s crazy agenda of hurt and extremism.
Any kid watching that should run the other direction!!!
[Translate]
Alex. I enjoy your blog for both the info you provide and many insightful comments from contributors. However, I find the constant “potty-write” references to the Premier’s body parts as being both unnecessary and well beneath the quality of what appears in this space. They do you a disservice.
I am not defending the Premier. IMO she is a most unfortunate choice who has distinguished herself with a patent lack of understanding of what the role requires.
People often ask why more females don’t run for office. I’d suggest for some of the non-entrants the cheap gender based comments frequently seen here in reference to CC are reason enough.
Please take your editorial, dare I say it, cleaver and stop publishing comments about C Cups, cleavage, boobs etc. It lowers the quality of the discussion.
I am a male contributor who happens to think that it’s what’s between, rather than below, the ears that counts.
Cheers.

Hurt and extremism? jeez Alex, get over the bicycle lanes already …
[Translate]
Of course, because you agree with such nonsense, it’s easy to be frivolous.
People are not abandoning their cars, if anything, people are relying more and more on their cars to get around. The bicycle lanes a proven bust and are only used by 3% of the population and dropping.
Robertson continues to push for something that the vast majority of the public don’t like.
Okay, and with that please stick to the topic or I’ll have to start deleting comments.
[Translate]
Show me your figures.
Have you seen the movie Moneyball?
You sound like one of those dinosaur scouts who base their opinions on bias doistorted perspectives …
And riddle me this … ONE million for bike lanes for three percent of the population vs 600+ million for a leaky dome for a stadium that is home to 10 football games and an RV show; avent done the math but I`ll wager Lion`s attendance is far less than three percent of population
[Translate]
You need to either read up on material you talk about or don’t comment, as you are embarrassing yourself.
Vancouver city council committed, and UNANIMOUSLY passed $25,000,000 in bike lane infrastructure over three years. Two more installments in 2012 and 2013.
I don’t agree at all with a half billion dollar stadium either–for double that we could have had a new stadium, but that doesn’t change the fact that there is some revenue coming in from the stadium, while there is absolutely nothing but grief and offshoot costs and problems from the bike lanes.
