BREAKING NEWS: The Bornmann Diaries: Christy Clark’s Assistant–A Bornmann Friend

24

Christy Clark’s close friendship with admitted briber of public officials, Erik Bornmann, is an established fact. Not only was he a graduate of Clark’s political finishing school, but visited her home and office and was generally chummy. They were and remain staunch federal Liberals and they share many political friends in the Liberal Party of Canada from their days as Paul Martin operatives/organizers.

When Clark was Deputy Premier, she saw Bornmann often (you’ll see that clearly in the next post).

But back in the day, too, Clark’s Ministerial Assistant, Kim Haakstad was also in to see Bornmann and appears on several expense sheets as having dined with him.

So what? You say, ‘so what’?!

Well, let’s take a closer look to lay the groundwork for a following post that will clearly show that Christy Clark was not only leaking Cabinet information to Erik Bornmann, but that her then Ministerial Assistant met with Bornmann on a much too frequent basis to be ignored.

Why? Why was the Ministerial Assistant to the Minister of Education meeting with a paid lobbyist on a matter totally unrelated to her Minister’s portfolio? After all, Clark herself told Mike Smyth of CKNW, “I had nothing to do with it. I’m totally clean, Mike. The sale was going on all around me.”

Really Christy?

Out of the dozens upon dozens of meetings over a year and half, where Kim Haakstad appeared,  I found the below most interesting.

Remember that Christy Clark’s then MA IS CURRENTLY A STRATEGIST WITH HER CAMPAIGN.

Behold…

So…as far back as 2002 (!!!) the BC Rail matter was already in the government hopper and look who’s talking to Erik Bornmann…why, it’s none other than Kim Haakstad folks.

Notes Bornmann:

“Discussions with MA of Deputy Premier RE: Clark meeting. Follow up with CA & preparations of OmniTRAX info.”

On the same day in his own handwriting Bornmann confirms his discussion(s) with Haakstad. Then three days later, he takes the ubiquitous Kim to lunch.

“Lunch – MA Deputy Premier RE” OmniTRAX mtng.”

Why was Kim Haakstad meeting so often with Erik Bornmann about the OmniTRAX bid if Clark’s statements through the almost completed leadership race are true?

If it was all really happening around her, then why was she and her assistant meeting with Bornmann on such a frequent basis???

Still think that only the legal fees paid for Basi and Virk should be investigated?

would that be Global as in News…

I can’t believe this sh#t!!!!!does someone have to be lit on fire on the lawn of the legislature before something gets DONE ABOUT IT???!!!

Ask your local MSM venue of choice. So far, they’ve joined the Christy Clark campaign. In the old days, Webster wouldn’t give a shit when they didn’t appear on his show as a result of being offended by Jack’s persistent hammering through elections and campaigns. He was often ruthless. Same with Rafe. Now, the media cower because the are afraid that if they publish my documents, Clark will not grant them interviews if she becomes Premier. Who cares? Shame her into sitting in a hot seat. That’s what real media does. But that era seems long gone, with few exceptions…

    Really Christy?

I think Cristy Clark used CKNW, OR, were they willing participants in this ??

  4. BCPolitica says:

I hope many others are following your revelations and reason here, Alex, the thought of this fallacious woman becoming the Premiere of BC sends chills down my spine.
Actually these people are all pretending to be unrelated to Gordon Campbell, yet they voted 84% to support him in the week before he stepped down. To have ANY of them in power in BC is just plain frightening!

  5. Hoof-Hearted says:

    It’s not that complicated.

The given Premier is the ” boss “.

His cabinet will be staffed by toady acolytes, the rest of the MLA’s relegated to the back bench.

When Campbell came in……the pace of change was off the charts.
The BC Rail issue was a serious warning to BC Voters as to “careful what you vote for “.

The case dragged on for years, all-the -while the Campbell Gov’t went on a rape and pillage rampage through BC.

Of course because Basi- Virk was before the courts, the major stink was kept under wraps. This simply gave Campbell the bravado to pursue other agendas as perhaps a Bilderberg incubi.

Like Icarus, he thought he was immune to the laws of gravity, and the HST was his downfall, the public had had enough.

BC’s next Premier had best be a NON Campbell clone…

  6. Melfort says:

At that point in the spring of 2002, a public tender had already been issued for bids to operate BC Rail’s Fort Nelson Subdivision on a contracted-out basis. It was published in the Globe & Mail on April 3, 2002.

The tender invited bids from shortline railway operators for a “transfer of operations” of the Fort Nelson Subdivision, which is the northernmost 250 miles of the BCR system. Deadline for bids was April 15, 2002.

The meetings cited in the consultant’s invoice occurred in May 2002, shortly after bids closed.

As one of the leading and largest shortline operators in North America, OmniTrax would have been a logical bidder for the Fort Nelson Sub. So too would have been RailAmerica. Both companies ultimately bid on the deal to acquire the whole BC Rail business and were among the four shortlisted finalists, although RailAmerica dropped out soon after being selected as a finalist.

    • arf says:

There were other potential local bidders as well. Any of whom would have done the job as well as BC Rail and a better job than CN. One of whom had to get the bid protocols via MLA intervention. After advertising for proposals in the Journal of Commerce (wanting to transfer its operations to a qualified operator)one would assume that the process was an open one. Not so, as we suspected then and know now. Rigged draw all the way. That deal was never done when it was found out that there were better options than CN. And since it was easier probably to give the whole thing away. When that was really what McLean wanted anyway. Or maybe he wanted everything but Fort Nelson!!!!!

      • AGT says:

If there was a trial we would have heard from David McLean, I assure you. Perhaps he’ll be forthcoming when there is a public inquiry. Let’s see…I’m sure he has nothing to hide.

  7. Fonzo says:

I know whereof I speak when I say that BC is effectively “run” mafia style. And it has really worked for them. These people don’t ever consider speaking against their own, yet ironically, I predict that’s exactly what it’s going to take to finally break the hold they have on government, etc. (I wish that the truth printed here was enough. It should be.)

AGT – Great work. You are definately helping to create the conditions whereby someone deep inside is going to “flip” on the record. MSM be damned, because if we have learned anything in the age of mostly digital din, it’s that profound messages of extreme relevance have a way of going viral despite the ambivalence or even hinderance of the media (see Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Wisconsin, Tea Party, Iran, Yemen, China).

Alex, if anything, you are helping to illustrate how many institutions maintain their desired/enabling image by the shakiest of threads. Truth and information of the type that you convey are making that facilitating charade untenable. (Years from now analysts will be incredulous regarding how it lasted as long as it did. Aren’t they always?)

You have touched on the role that the Media has played and not played in all of this. Any healthy government needs an opposition as part of the requisite checks and balances because power corrupts. The Media is exactly the same. There is no real Media opposition anymore except for the rare champions of truth such as yourself. The Tyee shows signs of fulfilling this needed role, but they *always* come up short. They have no balls.

It’s my opinion now more than ever that CFUN got whacked because of the imminence of so many issues where an opposition perspective might send the house of cards crashing to the ground. Not that they were any kind of crack team of truth-tellers and sleuths, but they were a loose enough cannon at times with a populist bent – and sometimes all it takes is one good shot. Keep up the excellent public service.

  8. Hoof-Hearted says:

One indicting fact down memory lane……..err memory track.

When CN took over BC Rail lines wasn’t there a major disaster whereby trains de-railed and spilled toxic chemicals into creeks in the Squamish area ??

The explanation was CN was not familiar with the area, tried to save on costs and ran longer trains .

    • gini says:

That major disaster in the Squamish area happened quite some time after CN took over BC Rail, and these derailments have been happening on a regular basis ever since, in different locations, of course. Remember the one over by Lillooet a couple of years ago? Lives were lost in this one, as well as a diesel engine, which I believe is still rusting away down at the bottom of the canyon.

The old “CN was not familiar with the area, tried to save costs and ran longer trains” excuse is wearing pretty thin, don’t you think? If there were some way that a public inquiry into ‘Railgate’ could declare the sale null and void, I for one would be cheering loudly.

  9. Hoof-Hearted says:

    Fonzo:

    Excellent points

Keep in mind that Gov’ts are also given ” natural person” status.

This can, like a man in a phone booth, or a werewolf candidate,……. allow them to select a persona that empowers/transforms them as an” individual” and thus stifle dissent via threats of civil lawsuits .

Small ( minded ) Local Gov’ts have used this trick if they feel threatened by vocal citizens.

MSM and Gov’ts are in the single – sized bed(not Queen or King sized….)…..very intimate and in V-E-R-Y close quarters. The evidence and inference is beyond debate.

The VERY worst are so-called community newspapers, as they are funded by myriad Local Gov’t advertisements. There is a line they will not cross…enough terminated MSM employees will attest to that.

  10. Elmer Bolster says:

Is it possible to use Judith Reid or Gary Collins or even Christy Clark (if she loses) as “Deep Throat”?

  11. Eva says:

This is the most telling, the Defendants wanted to withdraw as late as May 19 2010- From The Court Decision. May 25,2010

Dave Basi and Bobby Virk (the “applicants”) seek to withdraw formal admissions filed on February 10, 2010. Aneal Basi made these same admissions but is not a party to this application.

[2] The Crown opposes the application.
[3] I indicated to the parties on May 19, 2010 that I was denying the application and reasons would follow. These are those reasons.
    )Dave say’s)
After February 10, 2010, I began to review the file materials intensely in preparation for trial. I also watched the proceedings and received reports from my counsel for the few appearances for which I was not present. The more I read and the more I learned, the more troubled I was by the admissions I had agreed to.

    5. I no longer believe that most of the admissions are true with respect to the accuracy, authenticity and continuity of the wiretap recordings, or with respect to the continuity, accuracy, authenticity and retention of exhibits including emails.

    6. I make this affidavit in support of my application for leave to withdraw the admissions filed February 10, 2010.
