Stay Tuned!
Four huge stories to end the week. I’ll be back tomorrow morning.
And I really appreciate all your kind notes regarding the idiot who decided to threaten me and my family.
Half a dozen well-known media reporters and personalities from across the province called or wrote very supportively about my position on the prideless parade.
To close that thought off with an excellent summary, I will give you one paragraph from a note I received from one of them locally (Vancouver).
“Alex, it does not surprise me that you were threatened. The gay movement has become a lobby for superiority. It was about equality and all the things you wrote that we could be celebrating. The pictures you took have been seen by everybody in this newsroom and I don’t know anyone here that doesn’t agree with you including those who are outside your political views. Who would ever take a child to the pride parade? That’s ridiculous. But if anyone opens up about it, the first thing that will happen to us is what happen to you. I think we could have done something with the anti-Israel angle, but Xxxxxx didn’t need the grief. They would have just started making noise and who needs it. Anyway, we all continue to marvel at your ability to change the landscape of news in B.C. My brother in Prince George is glued to your site. I think he follows you more than he does us! Hang in there. You’ve broken more stories than any major news outlets in the last year. You have to expect hate mail my friend, unfortunately it’s part of being a big boy. Call me next week and we’ll go to lunch.”
Along with your very kind notes, it made this whole ordeal easier to get through. Again, a huge THANK YOU, to all that wrote and called.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some MAJOR news stories about Silly Hall/Vision Vancouver (one prominent reporter is about to administer and significant body blow to Dr. Bedlam and the Mayor); some further update on Michelle Obama’s not-so-excellent adventure; and a piece you won’t read anywhere else on terrorist Omar Khadr and why he should get the death penalty in the U.S., if convicted. Also, some local stories about national issues.
And…I’ll tell you an eyewitness story from when I was on the Premier’s detail twenty years ago, about a group called ‘Queer Nation’ and how the threats against me by rabid activists in the gay community fit into the insanity of a behavior that has apparently not departed from the LGBT community.
All tomorrow, all here. Your source for REAL perspective on REAL news.
Enjoy the sun. Blessings…

“Your source for REAL perspective on REAL news”
Sure as hell isn’t Bill Tieleman.
Keep at it Old Boy, keep the blog smokin’!

Hey Seymour:
I certainly appreciate your kind words. Although, I must pay a compliment when one is due. Tieleman has done a great job pointing out some domestic violence funding issues lately. And his support of the anti-HST crew, through the death of his mother (a wonderful, smart, sassy and hysterically funny woman, who I had the privilege to meet) was impressive.
When he goes back to regurgitating NDP speaking notes, or explaining how it is that there are people currently (nuts enough) to be supporting Moe Sihota for next NDP leader, then I’ll bring back the hammer…..

Hi Alex, reading the above, is an explanation of why I read your blog and the MSM avoids “offending sensibilities” leaving out important issues.
I am sure you have enough support besides mine, to give you the satisfaction of a “job well done” every week.

I sure do. This blog started out with a few hundred readers per day and now we routinely see figures in the mid-5000s range. The Pride Parade post, for example, was read by over 13,000 readers. The Carole Taylor/Dianne Watts post from last winter was read by a cumulative 24,000 readers.
And the compliment is to have great commenters like you come back, time and again. It’s encouraging and enjoyable. I’m not perfect. I learn from everyone. Always good to hear from you.

Well how about what Elecetions BC did to the anti HST petition today Campbells hand picked head of Elections BC declares teh petition be basically tabled until Campbells business buddies continue the fight to throw the petition out , we now live in a fascist state i have read of poltical days in areas of Europe in a not that distant era from our past and this is frightening over 700,000 residents signed a clear petition and are now being spit on by the BC Liberals and the freinds who are bleeding our coffers dry .
I now believe the contempt from people may escalate and recall may not make some happy as a way to retaliate this will be a sad chapter in BC history and a legacy of corruption unknown in Canada until now.

I know, it’s disgusting and I’ll be commenting on it tomorrow for you. Hang in there!
