Blogus Interruptus
I will not be blogging today.
In the last two days I have received two very threatening emails from someone commenting on the ‘Pride Parade’ post I did last week. The last comment received was at 2:33am this morning. This particular person has made statements about me that are entirely manufactured to injure and then followed up with significant threats.
I have since advised the police and they are immediately pursuing matters to identify the individual.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but the comments were extremely upsetting. I have been asked not to comment on the specific nature of the statements made by this individual, so please do not ask for details. Your concern is appreciated. The only thing I am permitted to tell you is that the commenter suggested that I had done something which was completely untrue and then threatened me with some follow-up statements, which were as disturbing as their author is clearly disturbed. I have a family to worry about so I contacted the authorities straight away.
In addition, I am offering a $5,000 reward for the positive and complete identification of commenter ‘BetterThanU’.

Robust discussion I don’t mind, in fact, I’d get an instigator penalty every game, but to misidentify me and then threaten me if I don’t print his lies about me is beyond insane. Everyone who runs a blog, no matter who it is, no matter what opinions they espouse, should NEVER have to go through being stuck at home, fuming that some jerk-off has stolen even one minute of personal time.
Believe me, If I find him first he’s going to wish he’d turned himself into the police before I caught up with him. Screwing around with me is fine, but messing with my wife and kids–VERY bad move.

Alex, you’re a good man and I for one am very thankful that you provide me with great reading. Unfortunately there are some in our society that can’t accept constructive opinion. Some people just don’t get it. Just like TV, if you don’t like the program, just change channels. I’m sure you wouldn’t kick the TV or threaten the producer.
However, Alex I understand your frustration, because in today’s society, you never know who you’re dealing with. It’s sad but true, there are a lot of sickos out there.

‘BetterThanU’ must be a real twisted prick to get this kind of reaction from you, Alex. To say that I am shocked it is an understatement. In my Book of Musketeers, I have you as one of the least impressionable kind. So it must be serious.
