G20 Protestor Anarchy: The Aftermath

24

In the months since black-masked cowards went after a Hudson’s Bay store window and occupied two blocks of downtown Vancouver, right in the middle of the Games, I wondered when they would be back.

No, not protesters.

Cowards.

Oh please, spare me that theirs, in Toronto, are different from ours. No they’re not. These dirty haired, unwashed, tie-dyed, malodorous cobblestone philosophers are for rent over a bag of dope and the requisite pizza chaser.

They are scum–problem being they are our scum.

For only someone with a significant streak of yellow running down their back pulls these kinds of stunts we saw in Toronto for the summit of developed countries.

Silence of course, from our pals at the civil liberties unions across the land. Zilch from the PEACE groups, who claim Israel, America, Bush Snr., the Illuminati, Sir Winston’s ghost, Christianity, ice cream bars, Donald Rumsfeld–who, as you must know, was responsible for 9/11 (pick your left-wing, insane asylum whipping post or hobby horse and immediately insert, here) started all this corporatism.

Save the world, all praise to Hamas, for they come in peace, take me to your mothership…

Did I tell you 9/11 was staged?

You know, the usual absolute mindlessness driven by people who, among other important daily priorities, advocate for the legalization of all drugs, but whose behavior as a result of their adherence to such a heavily medicated theocracy, prove only that closeted alcoholics are better off by significantly more than half.

The poor will become poorer as result of Stephen Harper’s anxiety over his secret addiction to beef jerky; the rich shall inherit (happily?) coal for Christmas and we shall all, one glorious day, be ruled by Paris Hilton…drivel, pish, bilge, nonsense…

And I don’t know about you, but when I heard one young, incomprehensible woman, from, ahem, Montreal, start up about “aggressive police tactics” in Toronto during the G20, I just about fell over on to my terrace as result of a severe battle with almost unstoppable laughter, while trying to balance a copy of the National Post and my favorite, but by that point quite empty, gin glass.

What aggressive tactics? For the first day the Toronto Police Department might as well have seconded the Ballet Society for help. Feather tou-tous over billy clubs–they must have traded one for one.

Protesters act with civility and respect. They do not burn police cruisers or damage businesses they never had to pay the mortgage of, or whose payroll they must meet monthly.

Lazy, unkempt, anarchist bastards running around objecting to progress and assistance for the very same countries, whose best interests they claim to represent.

Give me a break.

Frankly, if it were in my power, I would lock the lot of them into a giant stainless steel room with horrible acoustics, no doors or windows–little ventilation so that they can partake in what wafts from their filthy armpits, and make them listen to Pamela Anderson, as she attempts to navigate ‘War and Peace’. In the background I’d make them listen to the same Celine Dion song, you know the one, over and over again.

And maybe, after about 24 hours of no food or drink, I’d offer jail as an alternative only.

These are not people to be reasoned with or respected. Gone are the days of peaceful protest. All the peaceniks in this country apparently believe our sons and daughters on the plains of hell, fighting for freedom, are murderous war criminals; Israel is THE instrument of evil (channeling Mel are we?) and that the only way to get their point across is to even the score by birthing mayhem.

At some point, someone will die when the police wake up and treat these idiots as they deserve, as they have earned–and the only people to blame will be the protesters themselves. You can’t blame the cops on this one at all.

Have a look at the genius platoon, here.

Bloody cowards.

Alex, thank-you for not referring to these morons as protesters. I am fed up with hearing the media refer to these idiots as protesters.

    • AGT says:

You’re most welcome. I find it extraordinary that the MSM are so gutless that they continue to insult protesters, whom should FULLY have the right to civil protest, By referring to these cowards as anything other than the scum they are.

  2. ike so many of the teachers she represents, she says:

No longer just the realm of “the angry young man” but of women also, (some glaringly butch) and polyglot men. It included (who can doubt it) the so-called, white man’s burden, and lesser breeds without the law, though none struck me as being “working class”.
Nor was it merely a multicult crowd, but a veritable Rainbow Coalition. So let us now broaden our minds and take heart in the future lest we be implicated for thinking them merely white trash. Canada, you are truly arrived.

  3. Seymour Forest says:

If thse protestors truly want anarchy (abolition of any State control), Somalia would be a good place for these protestors to practice their ideaology. There’s no governmnt of any kind over there, and these slef professed anarchists wouldn’t last a week there. Many would be crying like a baby to the nearest Canadian embassy for help.

They should be exposed to the full weight of the law in terms of being told to pay for any damage done in Toronto. Alll of it.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association’s position regarding these
thugs is insane (just as it was with your friend David Eby who obviously was naive and didn’t know who he was messing with during the Olympics).

Protest if you must, but keep it civil and respectful of others who disagree with your protesting.

Ever since he Battle in Seattle, these anarchists have resorted to violent protest. Their actions have not changed anything from the way your local civic government works to large international organizations.

What does that tell a person.

IN our country and province, if we don’t like the politician and the party, we vote them out during an election. Witiness the spectacular collapse of the BC Social Credit government (1991), Conservatives (1993), NDP (2001) and the removal of the federal Liberals (2004).

What you should do is find some local anarchists and get them to tell why they resort to violence (the real reason, not some ideaological
    one).

As for their not liking Big Business, that is a paradox. They use computers (Microsoft WIndows and Intel CPU chips, Sony, Panasonic and Acer monitors), drive a car (Honda, Toyota, GM), on roads built with construction equipment (Caterpillar) ride the Skytrain (Bombarier), and use soap (Johnson and Johnson or Proctor and Gamble), most likely like booze (Molsons, and Seagrams).

Signs? Felt pens (from Staples or Office Depot). Cardboard (might e Weyerhaeuser, in our day it was MacMillan Bloedel or Crown Zellerback, real BC paper, not the cheap overseas stuff you see now).

Some probably arrived in Toronto by train (locomotives by GM Locomotive Division), or by plane (Boeing and Airbus).

    • AGT says:

Yes, I was actually thinking…to just air drop them into Darfur, or a Revolutionary Guard training ground northeast of Tehran…lots of anarchy there…

      • Seymour Forest says:

Also consider those anarchist types from the United States who came to T.O.

They would have had to obtain a passort or cross border card, issued by the United States Government. Then (even if they didn’t have one), they would have each stop and see the face of a Canada Customs person (if they were real anarchists, true to their ideaology), they wouldn’t “see” the Customs person and just keep going.

From those who came from other parts of Canada, they travelled by air (Nav Canada sets regulations and air routing for air travel in Canada), by road (vehicle is registered by the provincial government), roads are built and maintained by government regulation and specfications). Had to stay somewhere (health authority regulations as to condition of accomodation). Eat (again health authority regulation as to food handling, consumer legislation as to labelling and price). Take Toronto Transit (Toronto’s transit authority regulations and so forth as to safety and handling, Ontario licensing of bus drivers).

        and so on.

        Anarchists? Sounds pretty hypocritical.

  4. DonGar says:

    Alex,

The big differance between these thugs actions in Toronto vs Vancouver is that in Vancouver the police had to hold the crowds back from beating the crap out of these idiots. In Toronto every just stood around and watched. After the first day in Vancouver you never saw them again.

    • AGT says:

Amen to that! I’d be only too delighted to help out our pals in Hogtown!

      • david hadaway says:

This observation is true in that what brought the “black block’ to a dead stop in Vancouver was the intensity of public disapproval, not the $1bn largely misdirected dollars worth of ‘security’. The difference in Toronto may well be that a similar public reaction was muted thanks to the even more blatant waste and the well documented over reaction by some police toward some non violent protesters.

I yield to no one in my distaste for fantasy world self styled anarchists. However I also think that governments willing to use the resources of the state to shut down our cities without reference to the wellbeing and traditional rights of the citizens are a lot more dangerous than a bunch of hooligans.

Paranoid? Well, you mentioned Winston so I’ll quote him, “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.” Of course he borrowed that from Thomas Jefferson who also observed,”..that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.”

        • Seymour Forest says:

Not bad considering that Thomas Jefferson owned a slave.

          • david hadaway says:

I always hesitate before quoting Jefferson, who, like many of the ‘Founding Fathers’, was a hypocrite of the highest order. Hence Sam Johnson’s remark, “How is it we hear the loudest yelps for liberty among the drivers of Negroes?”

Jefferson in fact had some 600 slaves, almost certainly and most notoriously making one, Sally Hemings, his concubine. She was also the half sister / slave of his deceased wife Martha Wales and was pregnant by the age of 16. They had seven children of whom Jefferson emancipated only two, and that only in his will. He never freed Sally and also was responsible for allowing her nephew to be sold away from his family. He was left money by General Kosciuszko to free his slaves but did not do so and they were sold at Monticello after his death to pay his debts.

            Happy Fourth of July!

        • DonGar says:

These guys/girls are thugs; the destruction of property is not I repeat not justified and for what? Name that cause?? Those who choose to voice their concerns in a peaceful manor should be applauded and those who just seek to destroy should be thrown in jail and made to pay for the damage they caused.

If you don’t like the fact the government spent all this money then vote them out but don’t condone destroying other people’s property.

As far as the police over reacting what were you watching? Please provide the well documented cases of police abuse.

          • AGT says:

Sure thing. They CAN’T provide you with that Don, because, IMHO, the police were too soft on day one and by mid two two had to play catch-up. They should have pummeled all of them. Hwo else to treat property destroying thugs?

            • david hadaway says:

I think there are are a great many and more coming to light. However the specific case I had mind at the time was the assault on freelance reporter Jesse Rosenfeld. Arrested without resistance, and as it turns out without legal cause, he was held on each side by two police officers while a third punched him in the stomach and then elbowed him in the back when he collapsed. This was witnessed and described by TV Ontario presenter Steve Paikin, who was himself threatened with arrest, again for no apparent legal cause. A reliable witness I think if for no other reason than that he would be unlikely to jeopardize his job and reputation by making this up.

As I said before, we can worry about a few misguided yahoos if we want but a government permitting and encouraging police officers to act outside the law, with impunity, has far more serious implications.

Frankly it is the behaviour of those officers that meets every definition of cowardice and when you start to condone such disgraceful acts you are starting down a dangerous route.

              • AGT says:

An eye for an eye…not me. Take out both of ‘em. There is NOW WAY I would tolerate that kind of horse manure as what was exhibited by the scum anarchists. They didn’t get what they deserved, because someone without enough guts was chief of police in Toronto. They deserved, in fact, earned much worse.

        • Excellent post from david hadaway.

I can’t help contrasting these imbeciles with their black masks and their mindless violence with the thousands of us who peacefully kicked off the anti-HST campaign at the rally downtown last fall (I don’t remember even seeing a cop).
The petitions were delivered the other day with thousands of signatures to spare.
The black block knotheads accomplish nothing but pissing off the vast majority who would like to see them go to jail for the assaults, property damage etc with which they seek to make their ‘point’ apparently.

  5. Pedro says:

Hi Alex, Anyone participating on “protesting” at these demonstrations, must be aware of its results and they either are, completely obtuse to reality (A strong possibility) or are lying and actually condone it, pretending to be innocent victims.
I have a suggestion, every time you plan an event “demonstration” reach an agreement with the government to give the projected security cost to the causes being demonstrated, AND STAY AT HOME OR WORK. No crowds, for the criminals to misuse as a distraction.

  6. thecossack says:

Its the perfect definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. All the car torching and plate glass breaking only strengthens anti anarchist resolve not the masses feelings against capitalism.

  7. Larben says:

Seymour – Or that he had a child with one, or that he was an atheist and opposed to all religion, or that William Jefferson Clinton not only bears his name, but his moral attitude.
