Boobs On the Blog: The NDP Attack Because They Were Ordered to Do So

23

Over the last week, many of you have complained about several new NDP prostitutes, bombarding this site with propaganda and lies about what I have reported on the Ark Tsisserev story among others. You see, many of these people receive their marching orders from the same folks who brought us the spin and lies at City Hall over the last two months.

They are also upset at me because I will NOT allow anyone to refer to Gordon Campbell as a criminal, here. I do not like what he has done as Premier any more than his harshest critics, but defamatory and libelous statements are not allowed here. My former 24 Hours colleague Bill Tieleman, once remarked to me about a few of these individuals, and to his credit he has managed to chase most of them from his blog/website. But they landed here because they are afraid. They are cowards. They know that the credibility of my criticisms of the Premier carry weight, because I’m not busy wondering what he does in his private life–the cause celebre of many of the objectionable idiots, who have come around here to post smear-jobs and engage in character assassination. Well I won’t let them. They are afraid because they know that there is someone here who will criticize with purpose and their partisan venom will look like what it is–nonsense.

So, today’s ‘Front and Center’ is dedicated to them. Good riddance!

And for the rest of you wonderful folks who come here and comment, whether we agree or disagree, I have immense respect for you and your opinions and I think I’ve shown that. Most bloggers don’t even respond. I reply to every comment myself and I’m honoured to have you around, so keep those fresh perspectives coming!!! Many blessings.

Hi Alex, Excellent video, I knew that your delivery would improve, it certainly did and your reply to those who are trying to change facts with “Political Fluff” can now be certain that they wasting their time, well said.
Missed the CH 10 Show, will try Sunday.

    • AGT says:

Yes, thx, it is improving and I’m learning to keep the content tight and the time line shorter. It’s evolving into a good piece. Much appreciation for your kind words.

  3. Glissando Remmy says:

Well, well, well, Alex. Better and better.

You know that saying, “The third time is the charm”. It’s true!

Funny thing, just the other day, on both, Frances and City Caucus blogs, I wanted to use the line “you’re as welcome here as a fart in a space suite” when describing the Gregor & company’s new found superhero roles – fighting homelessness. In the end it turned out something like this “Roballeermtson and company care about homeless people, as much as a dog licking his balls in public cares about you looking at him.”

    Anyway. ..

First, I want to say that I do appreciate your answering back to all my comments, and everyone else’s. How do you manage to find the time to do that, I don’t know. In the spirit of fairness and because I am a very considerate person, I have to say that I don’t mind you not responding to my posts. I would rather expect you, to spend that time with your family instead. That’s my gift to you. Time!

Second, feel free to edit my posts, if you find them offensive sometimes, or take them out completely. You have my personal mail, so if you see any nasty words…get in touch; blame it on colortinis.

There. I’m going to watch “Reservoir Dogs”, “The Great Train Robbery” and “The Sting” movies, tonight. I heard they are entry level to “The Great City Hall Swindle”. That’s for Sunday!

You, on the other hand… go have a great weekend!
    Glissando

    • AGT says:

      Gliss:

      1) Your posts are always outstanding and never in need of editing. Even when you have disagreed or gently nudged, it was respectful and appropriate.
      2) Gregor’s nothingness is going to burn up much political capital, trust me. Just watch.
      3) Responding to comments is my obligation. You should see the number I get privately from sources, politicians and others who ned that extra anonymity. It’s overwhelming. And…I type fast! LOL!
      4) Never blame a colortini for anything!
      5) Those are all super movies. ‘The Great Train Robbery’ in particular is wonderful entertainment.

      • Pedro says:

Great comment Glissando, like you, I also wonder how Alex finds the time to reply to all comments, even no-sense “Politically Fluff” and I won’t begrudge the occasional lack of a reply, which is always appreciated, realizing that he needs time with his family and to investigate the current issues.

  4. SB says:

I cant say in words what i think of Campbell without most of them describing levels of disrespect , if there was crime leave it to courts to deal with and one day he will find Karma really does exist and do unto others as you would have done unto you will have him worried plenty i am sure .
Just keep on giving us a forum we can debate inform and learn from Alex you get us from all over the political map and its a very neat site to read for that reason cheers and keep at it .

  5. RS says:

It’s been seven years since Campbell was arrested on the Valley Isle for driving under the influence, but his mug shot remains indelible in the minds of British Columbians.

Now, despite Campbell’s hardline stance while leader of the opposition, that the integrity of the office of the premier must always be protected, he made yet another erratic U-turn upon waking from a drunken stupor in a Maui County jail on January 10, 2003.

Campbell was always the first to demand the resignation, or at least the stepping aside, of politicians across the floor from him in the legislature who were under suspicion of having done something untoward. But obviously Campbell had an epiphany while comatose in a Maui drunk tank. How else does one explain away the newfound compassion and forgiveness Campbell lavishes upon a growing number of BC Liberals ‘n’ hangers on who have found themselves in hot water? Jane Thorrnthwaite, John Les, Ken Dobell, Kinsella, Dandefer ‘n’ Taylor, van Dongen, to mention but a few.

But I digress. At the risk of being branded a boob, an NDP prostitute, and a coward, and banned from commenting on your blog Alex, I have to ask: Is it not a “criminal” offence to be charged for driving with a blood/alcohol level of 0.149, nearly double the legal limit, in either the U.S. or Canada? And if so, then how could it possibly be defamatory and libellous to refer to someone convicted of such as a “criminal”?

    Just asking.

I think I’d best duck ‘n’ run for cover now.

    • AGT says:

Not necessary to duck at all…

      1) I ALWAYS enjoy your comments here and have learned from them many times.
      2) You are courteous and polite–and I appreciate that.
      3) I agree with your entire statement about Gordon Campbell, with the one exception, that his drunk driving arrest was a misdemeanor. By stating this, I am in no way condoning what he has done, to himself, or this province. But the naysayers are taking the wrong tact in bringing Mr. Campbell to “justice”

The clear implication of those who are part of the small cadre of anti-Campbellites is that he is involved in greater crime than just drinking and driving. And this is unproven, and therefore, totally offside.

I always enjoy having you around. Feel free to remain.

Slander, malicious personal attacks, foul language, extreme hyperbole, twisted factums, are all the milieu of the uneducated who cannot muster even a contrary opinion based in reality. I salute your “bums rush” to the heathens. This is why your blog is informative and accurate.

  7. The Angry Taxpayer says:

If anyone wants to read the docs from City Hall about Ark really carefully, they will surely come away with MORE questions than answers.

EWith regards to those darn panels, I especially appreciate the timelimes where it is noted Ark makes a recommendation then, magically, he changes his mind. No footnotes, no reasons, nada.

  8. Norm Farrell says:

I agree that a responsible blogger should not print libels or defamation without making them his/her own. Strong opinions can be expressed with passion without resorting to smearing others. I dump reader comments that I deem offensive from my blog, particularly if they are offered by Mr. or Ms. Anonymous.

I’m not against calling a spade an effing shovel if that’s appropriate and a dedicated reader could find incidents of my statements that might be considered “smears” but you can be certain that I gave the words careful thought and believed they were appropriate and I was prepared to defend them. That explains why a blogger should regularly eliminate that from others that is believed to be crap.

As you, I write with my own name so if a person feels legally violated on my blog, they can take action against a living, breathing person. Not so with comments from people with name withheld. I don’t mind people remaining anonymous (eg. whistle-blowers) but don’t hide behind that routinely just to avoid standing up for your own opinions and then bitch because someone else won’t publish your thoughts.

After all, blog services are available to anyone. You can even use free software and hosting if you don’t have wealthy friends. Denying comments to readers doesn’t deny freedom of speech, they just need to go elsewhere to express it. And, that’s fair.

    • AGT says:

Couldn’t agree more. That’s why when I redo my blog roll I will be adding your blog. We might not agree on some things politically, but I admire the fact that you take no BS from these insidious bastards who smear and know of nothing else. Kudos to you and your blog!

  9. Olga says:

    Hi Alex,

I watched you on the Standard the other night–your delivery was eloquent as usual. My only complaint was that you weren’t on long enough. You had so much to say so little time. That’s okay. Now that the world has been introducted to your blog they too will become better informed. God bless you and your family, Alex.

  10. Leah says:

“They are also upset at me because I will NOT allow anyone to refer to Gordon Campbell as a criminal, here.”

I can understand your reasoning behind that Alex…but…how does Mr. Campbell differ from Mr. Smith, when driving with that level of alcohol in his blood? Wasn’t driving with levels that high a criminal offense at the time he returned to BC?

I know it’s not now…but the law was changed a year AFTER he got back from Maui. Criminal, shriminal…only an idiot would drink then risk everyone else’s life behind the steering wheel.

    My 1.5 cents…(inflation ya know.)

    • AGT says:

He doesn’t differ at all, but, in no particular order: Gordon Campbell has fathered an out of wedlock child with an assistant; he is collecting kickbacks; his govt is a criminal empire–are ALL false. IF, and I repeat, IF, someone has evidence to the contrary, lovely, then go check it out, or bring it here and I’ll go through the material for you and print the story–IF IT’S TRUE. I cannot have people coming on here and including me in the libel by allow such idiocy, when, clearly, I am against Mr. Campbell’s policies. And while his personal story may be entirely compelling, I am profoundly disninterested as to whether or not he is a nice man, or has some sort of personal hang-up. If it affects govt policy or govt propriety, fine. But to show, as many of the Powell River and Kootenay pinheads have and start firing off threats and suppositions about Campbell/Bush/Corporatism/Commercialism/Republicans/Jews etc….starting to see a pattern. At some point freedom of speech morphs into hate speech an I just won’t have it. It has NOTHING to do with having an opinion different from my own. Illogical, lunatic fringe comments will not appear here again, period. It’s just too much hassle to deal with and like a bad virus, they keep coming back for more.

As for the Premier’s drunk driving conviction, I will state only this: It was a misdemeanor, not a criminal conviction, and he has paid his debt. Was it an appropriate sentence. No, not in my opinion. He’d get worse here. Should he have resigned? Probably. The judgement question is still aching for redress. Is drinking and driving an awful thing to do? Yes! Absolutely. However. Gordon Campbell asked and received a great deal of grace from the public for one reason and one simple reason only: Because whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the VAST MAJORITY of people have driven drunk before–they’ve just never been caught–and it’s an easy thing to do. I’m not talking about being completely gunned and getting behind the wheel–I’m talking about someone going out for dinner and thinking they’re alright and they most certainly might not be. THAT has happened to every single person I know. And THAT’S why Gordon Campbell is STILL Premier. Though, I agree, it doesn’t take away from the fact that he has comported himself horribly and made a mess of the West Annex. His shame, if he had any ability to feel remorse, should be palpable. After the first two years of his tenure as Premier, it’s been all one nasty downhill ride that he’s taken us on. He should resign as soon as possible to maintain the integrity of the office.

As always, I enjoy your comments. Thx for stopping by.
