BREAKING NEWS: AN Unholy Alliance vs. YOU!
If there was ever a time where the desperation of the global warming alarmists was so blatantly obvious, this must be it.
In a stunning act of sheer idiocy, a union, specifically the UFCW Canada (United Food and Commercial Workers) will be holding a ‘Union Environmental Rally’ on Monday March 8th, 2010 at the Westin Bayshore?
Why? Well, because that’s the exact location and time of the Whole Foods AGM/Stockholders Meeting and their CEO, a clear-thinking and decent fellow, Mr. John Mackey believes that global warming alarmism is complete bunk. It’s a myth according to Mr. Mackey.
So what does the union movement do? They band together to go after a man who not only speaks the truth but has the integrity to repeat it.
Think of how stupid these people are: The AGW movement is actually detrimental to the unions, but these incredible fools are going to show up, placards in hand and pretend that they are accomplishing something. Commercial agricultural farming, which supports these dimbells that will be attending the rally, is under attack by the AGW lobby, with the spreading of falsehoods about the environmental degradation mass farming allegedly produces. Instead of admitting that smaller farms are NOT as efficient and actually cause MORE damage to the planet, through increased carbon release etc. The 100-mile diet, for example, plays right in to this mythology. But don’t tell that to the placard waving twits that will be parading around the Bayshore on Monday morning.
Below you will find the a copy of an email obtained by us. Notice that the re-distribution comes from the “Vancouver & District Labour Council”
How did I get a copy? From a union member who actually agrees with Mr. Mackey–that’s how.
You’ll also notice in the email, that the union bobblehead, Keith Murdoch, uses the classic polemics: They’re going to “crash” the AGM, and that the rally is a “partnership between Environmentalist (sic) and Labour”
What a fool.

Whole Foods is having their stock holders meeting at the Westin Bayshore and we plan on crashing it. The reasoning is Whole Foods CEO John Mackey’s point of view about Global Warming being a myth.
This rally is a partnership between Environmentalist and Labour.

How these people legitimize their existence is beyond the comprehension of a sane individual. But Mr. Murdoch has sounded the bell and the flock must follow.
And if you think this kind of moronic display doesn’t trickle down to you, think again. This is a powerful union that loves to throw their weight around. This kind of dumb-think costs you at the check-out counter when operations are unionized by extremists and radicals (read: infected by Stupid Stepford Soldiers).
Ridiculous.
Unholy Alliance, I’ll say. Excommunicate them all, bell, book and candle, let toll the bells! Wonder if my union knows that I think it’s all a myth aslo? Even more pertinent, why would I care, what the hell has it got to do with wages, benefits and union dues?

In my working days, I had the pleasure of working in two different union shops, and enjoyed both. I know for a fact that my remuneration would not have been anywhere near what it was without being in a union.
That being said, I wonder if the UFCW actually had a vote on whether to go this route, or did the executive just unilaterally decide that this was a good idea. This particular union represents the workers of the three major food chains operating in BC and I guess across Canada . Their mandate is to represent their members in dealing with their employers and to some extent labour issues. It is not to be Greenpeace light. Let Suzuki , Jaccard, Weaver, or our premier protest John Mackey’s stance, and if individual members of the UFCW wish to join in on their own then so be it.

Unions have an important role to play in the protection of workers and attending their interests in wage and benefit negotiation. However, in the past decades as they have become less relevant, there has been a marked increase in the gong ringing and obstructionism. Political expenditures on behalf of their members is shameful. The lopsided wage scale is a prime example of ‘my dad is bigger than your dad’ syndrome. In many areas they have priced themselves and the local economy out of the market. This debacle is just another reason why overall union membership is in decline. How utterly pathetic they are when trying to boost their tattered image.
