Features and Update…
So, in my ongoing effort to keep you all better informed of the world going on around us, I wanted to let you know of a few features upcoming.
1) CIVIC WATCH: Since the Mayor of Vancouver’s people take such special care in having their surrogates mock this site; personally ridicule me and generally try to discredit the truth being presented here–their modus operandi is to lie and spin; hence, I’ve decided that until the next Vancouver election, I’ll be concentrating on them. No, I won’t stoop to suggesting that the Mayor’s pointy ears look eerily Spock-like, nor will I be taking personal shots at them, as they do with me and my family. But I most certainly WILL be digging deeper on a whole number of stories which I’ve been alerted to. Should make for some interesting times…for them. Sorry, lads, you brought it on yourselves…ask Sam how he felt…
2) THE CAMPBELL CLOCK: As the Olympics pass into the debt-bin of history, I’ll be focusing on the Premier, more so than his government. There are many stories which remain untouched by the mainstream media. You’ll read about them here. And if he is not gone by the late summer, the Liberals will begin to slip away and a new party will have to be formed (this may come to pass regardless). But certainly after the bills start to arrive and the debt hangover starts to throb…well, you’ll know the rest by staying tuned right here.
3) VIDEO MADE THE RADIO STAR: Only because I’m so handsome and am often confused with Brad Pitt, I will be torturing you with video commentaries as well. This project has been months in the making. I did not want just some feeble You Tube effort, so there’ll be some interactive features that we’re looking into. Taping begins this week. And you should see the first one here soon enough.
4) A HOME, FINALLY: I’ve entered into final negotiations with some folks in various media and you’ll find me in a permanent spot soon. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of doing this, and trust me, I won’t stop the blog ever, but there are some interesting developments. I’m glad I waited. I almost went to two different places right after leaving 24 Hours, and that would have been a major mistake.
5) IN THE FOREGROUND: This week, the last week of the Olympics, we’re going to concentrate on a few stories I’ve been researching and observations I’ve been noting about the Games and the various performances–of our elected representatives. You’ll read about them here. So, thank you for your continued support and camaraderie. I certainly appreciate all the wonderful notes and even the challenging ones. It’s a privilege to be read by such caring and informed people like you. Believe me, I learn from you as much as you feel you might learn from me. Blessings…

Can’t wait Alex….
Great to hear that you are in negotiations… video, my aren’t you ambitious. Thankfully that you won’t be giving up the blog….I’m addicted.
We knew that after the Olympics that the truth would start to leak out. Now the real show begins….. I’m sure that many people have stories to pass to you, and will, after the world has gone home.
As well, many sleepless nights for those that have something to hide.
This is the best news I’ve heard in a long while. Integrity is returning to our city.
Have a lovely Sunday with your family.

Thx George. It’s because of people like you that this becomes a labour of love. I enjoy being here as much as you do, believe me.

AT sez:
“I certainly appreciate all the wonderful notes and even the challenging ones. It’s a privilege to be read by such caring and informed people like you”
Kinda new here, but this is good. Should have gotten messages to you alot earlier. The stuff I could have sent in regards to the antics of a few supporters of a Senator, and geezus, the antics of one BC Liberal political hack would mean a two foot long column for you.
But will be continously reading when I can there AT.
After the Games are over, it’s going to be fun watching the BC Liberals
and don’t forget the return of The Zalm when it come to the HST.
He is the best thing to arrive in Vancouver since McDonald’s introduced curly fries.
(snicker)
Keep this blog smokin’.

Oh I will…don’t you worry about that… And it begins tomorrow….

I propose a contest or sorts: Where will Alex’s new home be?
Hmmm? CKNW? Unlikely. The Tyee? Nahhhh. CanWest? Say it ain’t so! Perhaps Alex will joining the coterie Thesaurus Rex has recently become a member of? Or is Alex’s upcoming foray into video commentary an indication of things to come? You been talkin’ with Tony Parsons Alex? The Georgia Straight?
Congrats on your new digs Alex, where ever that may be!

Very funny stuff. I’ll let you know soon. Thx kind Sir!

Hi Alex, Looking forward to your updated blog, as well as your new position, I knew someone, somewhere, somehow, would realize that your pen should be getting wider exposure than your blog.

Thx Pedro. Will advise soon enough.

Sounds exciting Alex!
Can’t wait to see where you appear next. Obviously, your public awaits….
While you are working on that Vancouver civic bit, perhaps you can ask who at city hall visits my site several times a day while at work…. hardly a city employee’s duty, no? ; )

Don’t feel special darling…on the day I did the follow-up on the suspicious firing of Vancouver’s Chief Electrical Inspector, someone from the City of Vancouver was on my blog for 92 minutes straight. Then a whole slew of visitors from the City of Vancouver and since I broke the story about the electrical life safety issues at the Olympic Village, regular visits from the City of Burnaby, and the City of Surrey. Coincidently, of course, Vision’s propaganda poodle was on this site six times the day I broke the story and appears regularly, trolling for stories I’ve written about Vision Vancouver, that he can then lie about. It’s tough being their bitch. LOL!
And they’ll have a whole new problem in less than 48 hours….

I await your new interlocutor status with rabid anticipation. Your reports on the congenital petulance of City administration is another area that stirs the loins. Rarely has a commentator so illuminated the limitations of human foresight so clearly. I look forward to your leavening their righteousness with an understanding that the world did not begin with their election.

Please feel free to rag on Mayor Corrigan of Burnaby any time you have space. Always wondered why I can never get a letter critical of him or his council printed in the Newsleader, and saw yesterday a cozy picture of Hizzoner (or is it obergruppenfuhrer or rather Comrade) Corrigan and the paper’s publisher getting all warm and fuzzy. Guess the money made on the awesome amount of adbverts paid for by the provincial NDP and Burnaby taxpayers diminishes somewhat the ideal of a free press.

Sir Lawrence, you humble me. Not an easy task…
One will do what one can…

Great news Alex! Good luck to you in your new endeavour. I’ll be following you closely. As for Robertson, Campbell , Ballem & comp… pebbles in your shoes; you know what to do about that.
All the best, Glissando

Thx Glissy. Will do!

You’re such a tease, Alex…;-)
Bwahahahahahahaha! Looking forward to see what you unearth.

You love it…

Good luck with your new gig. I doubt you need it but break a leg just doesn’t seem fitting unless one is referring to your new video endeavors.

Thx Crankypants. I appreciate the sentiment.

”
My entry…….
Alex is going to produce and star in talking head (as in terlet) videos for the Fraser Institute. He’ll be their chief global warming denier and critic of anyone to the left of Stephen Harper’s right shoulder (including Stephen Harper’s own left forearm and hand, neck and both nipples.

I’ll assume you were trying to be funny.

Well Alex, this Thread just made my day! The Civic Watch will be very interesting indeed. While I don’t reside on the Lower Mainland, it does seem to be “the middle of the Universe” for B.C.! As goes Vancouver, so goes the Province in so many ways.
“The Campbell Clock” is a long time over due. There are many people that have the goods on this Premier, but are terrified to speak out. I would suggest that you will break that mold!
I have read that Brad Pitt is often mistaken for you! Coincidence or what? I am sometimes mistaken for his brother, Arm Pitt. But that’s another story, for another day.
The fact that you are in the process of being on/in another Media in the future is the best new’s ever!
I believe that your Blog and several others [no need to name them] are becoming the Main Stream Media for folks like me, that want to be informed, and not entertained, by current events.
Anyway Alex, onward and upward!
Cheers

Many thx, Gary. I appreciate your kind words.

Just tell me one thing. How many homes has this mayor and council actually built since they were elected? I am not talking about the premier’s work on this. These visionaries said they would end homelessness. Have they built one new home for the homeless.
Oh, shelters do not count
There are so many other question but please find an answer for me.
