The Spy Who Loved Thee
Back in the not-so-heady days of the Bush Administrations ‘War on Terror’, out from the wellhead of the skeptical false gods, sprang a fellow named Scott Ritter. Mr. Ritter, a former UN weapons inspector, retired Marine and counter-intelligence officer, was one of the greatest critics of the former President, often going so over-the-top in his criticisms, that I actually went to two lectures he was offering, to see what all the fuss was about.
Frankly, after listening to almost three hours of the kind of conspiracy theorist bromide that I would expect from such great intellectuals as Whoopi Goldberg or Rosie O’Donnell, I left. The man just didn’t pass the smell test for me, there seemed something very odd about him. He was as disturbed as he was disturbing. Don’t get me wrong, there were many instances where I was critical of the Bush Administration over their handling of the WMD issue. But what do you call used canisters of chemical agent? There were a number of instances where the MSM where so unwilling to examine the stories and connect the dots coming out of Iraq that it defied logic. You can read some very interesting perspective here. But back to Mr. Ritter, who often took the tact of criticizing the President and his own country on “moral grounds”. In fact, here’s a direct quote from notes I took during one of his lectures:
“When we lose our humanity, when we lose ourselves…when we break that moral code, then we lose it all. That’s what happens to the weak and the stupid”.
Oh, my, my, my, how one’s words often come back to haunt one….throwing stones from his glass house? You be the judge. You can read about this despicable fool and the disaster of his own making, here.
The interesting thing was Alex, that the MSM hated Bush so much that they would buy into anything that would embarrass the President and along with that their own country. Just pile it on. Bush certainly deserves it and it saves them the problem of really investigating whether it was fact or fiction. That gave Mr Ritter a free ride.
At least up until now..

Yes, I completely agree. I think Bush was so busy trying to keep to Rumsfeld and Cheney’s agendas that he couldn’t carve out his own. Too much in play. The MSM are shameless. Look at the recent revelations of racist comments by Harry Reid on the 2008 campaign trail. IF a republican had said them, it would be top news for weeks. Katie Dumb-Dumb on the CBS Evening News had it fifth story down one night and then third story down the next and then nothing since.

Hi Alex, absolutely right, the double standard is appalling, poor Bush, who is not dumb, just “Verbose Dyslexic” was vilified, they still often show him trying to get out through a closed door, as if that was a symbol of his stupidity, while the “One” jokes are now all insipid and immaterial and his “Verbose Diarrhea” goes unmentioned.

Yes, I’ll certainly agree with this.
