Iran’s Death Wish: Suicide By American Bomber

5

You are, of course, familiar with the phrase ‘Suicide-by-cop’ where a deranged person, while  wielding a deadly weapon (putting innocents in immediate, usually grave danger), taunts police on the scene, to shoot.  The six o’clock news is filled to the brim with stories like this.

The one they have never covered, though, is the one about The Islamic Republic of Iran.

Let me explain…

I have a very good friend who teaches university in Iran.  He and I met while I was studying in London years ago, and we usually touch base several times a year. He is, what the psychotic mess Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would declare, a heretic, a dissident, a traitor.

To me, Reza is a hero.  Beaten several times by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRG), he has persevered to lead one of the most educated set of dissidents in the town he lives.

This is an excerpt from a letter he wrote me earlier this month.  With his blessings, I reprint it here:

“My dear Alexi…I fear for my people, for the good people of my land. They are in turmoil and are unaware of the real dangers that the crazed rulers are putting us in. Please do not stop to support me and my friends with your words against Ahmadinejad. I fear that his hatred of Israel and Amerika (sic) will not stop and we will suffer in one great fire from hell. The aim of these people is to have American soldiers attack this land. My beautiful friend this will be the only way to change the sea of disbelief growing against the clerics. I am proud of my land and of our people but I am ashamed of these men who hurt. They are interest (sic) only in having Amerika (sic) attack us to show how bad they are and Israel will join together with them to attack. If war is not done, they will  find another mode. Please my brother Alexi, keep talking about Israel. We do not want any hurt to them. The people of my land want to be in peace with the Israel (sic) but the rulers are trying to bring blood to the streets to show how bad Amerika (sic) is. Please show the world that we are in danger and trying to stop this man and his plans…My regards to your beautiful wife and children. I pray to be in London again next June. Will you join me? God bless you and your people my dear friend. With fraternal love, Reza”

Without belaboring the point, these are the words of a kind, decent, God-fearing, educated Muslim, living among his people and fearing for them.  It’s clear that Ahmadinejad’s grip (and that of the radical clerics) on the country is slipping.  The growing protests are lead not just by educated university students, but also, by increasingly brave men and women, who recognize the great potential that is Iran, and want to see real change. They want a democracy. They do not hate America. They CRAVE the freedom that we so often take for granted in the West.

Why can Muslim people in Iran (or anywhere else) not live in peace?  To practice their religion; to live in harmony; to live in FREEDOM.

The answer is simple:  Because for decades the proliferation of Muslim extremism has enveloped their governments and institutions.

Today, with the death of Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, one of Iran’s most blessed dissident senior theologians of the Shiite Muslim faith, Iran is bracing itself for more protests by dissidents who see their country in peril.

I am convinced, not just because of my friend Reza’s words, but because, as I have told you before, I follow trends–and it’s as clear as day–Ahmadenijad is aching to be attacked so that he can drum up support for the insanity of his ways.  The man who is, ironically, the leader of something called ‘The Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran’ will be known in all objective history books as the architect of the destruction of Iran and the murderer of millions of it’s people.

There can be no wavering by the Americans or Israelis.  If Iran’s clear nuclear ambitions are not stopped, the entire Middle East will be in clear and grave danger and, therefore, the Americans must act without question.

Here, you can read about the final stages of Iran’s death wish.

And to my beloved friend Reza and his brave people, I say:  Blessed may you continue to remain.  And may Allah give you the freedom to fully exploit the greatness of your wonderful culture and country.

I traveled in the Middle East for years and it is exactly as you say. The people of not just Iran but of many other countries are suffering but their tolerance has reached a point where they can’t take it anymore. The Iranian leaders practice torture as routine ways of keeping people in line. They hope for an American invasion or attack so they can keep repeating the lies about the west. The people are easily intimidated but are growing tired of the craziness practiced by their leaders.

I am glad someone in the media is calling attention to this matter. I am a student here from Tel Aviv and I witnessed so much anti-semitic behaviors here. Please continue to speak out for my country. Thank you sir for having the bravery to speak like this thankyou.

You are most welcome. Although I fear for the Iranian people as well since their leaders are clearly interested in using them as shields. It will be one awful mess if the Iranian govt is not reigned in sooner rather than later. The problem, as I understand it from Reza, is that the nuclear facilities are purposely built in modernized, highly residential areas. This means that the Iranian govt knows full well that any bombing of their facilities by Israeli or American forces will definitely result in casualties. What does this say about what the Iranian govt think of their own people? Shame!

Hi Alex, something else we are in agreement, the policy of appeasement from the new US administration, will not work, you can’t discuss logically with fanatics.
