The Copenhagen Carnival
There is an old Sicilian adage, that loosely translated goes something like this…”Do you know how to kill? Good. But if you don’t know how to hide…better not kill”
In Copenhagen, for the next two weeks, there will be a complete and total fantasy played out such that you will read of wonderful, broad-sweeping agreements that will change the planet for the better, emissions reduction targets, the developing world on bended knee and all thanks to people like Al Gore.
And NONE of it will be true. They have been killing their own data, manipulating the science, and now, to THEIR eternal pain, we discover that they don’t even know where to hide.
Here are some facts on Copenhagen:
1) The Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change will produce no agreement and no treaty. It’s original design was to construct some nefarious world government to rule various economies by hammering out. through almost Draconian means and unattainable ones at that, targets that will reduce greenhouse gases, predominantly carbon dioxide.
Well, what a start! Over 150 private planes including Lear, Challenger and Gulfstream jets have flown in and along with any accompanying modes of dastardly transportation, that require that evil–fuel (like the 1250 limousines present), have created a WHOPPING 40,000 tons of carbon. Think about this: The very same people telling you that they are desperately worried about the planet are starting off a conference to save us, by adding to the problem they claim has us on the edge of oblivion.
You can read about it, here.
2) The targets being set cannot be met, as industrialized countries like China, India and Russia (some of the world’s biggest polluters) will not allow for monitors since they claim this is a “highly subjective” condition. Additionally, they (astutely) fear an extended global economic rumpus and recognize the fragility of world markets for, at least, the near future. This, they posit, may make it necessary for “adjustments” and a “review” of targets at some point. China, in particular, cannot be expected to curb the benefits of a robust decade of growth, that North America enjoyed for fifty years! India, I submit, will follow suit. As for the United States, so much for leading the charge against global warming. The Obama Administration is promising to return carbon levels to 17% below what they were in 2005. This is a significant departure from what was promised, and, frankly, a ridiculous target, if the science is truly settled. It will do nothing to curb major pollution in the U.S. But the President is surrounded by green profiteers (many of whom were extremely generous to him as campaign donors), so the eco-tech industry will explode, only to do as much damage to the American environment as Independent Power Projects (IPPs) have done to British Columbian streams.
So, compare the ridiculously perfunctory American position with that of Canada, that balks at offering up hard targets citing the constantly shifting economic tides. Who is the more reasonable? The country that is going through the motions (the U.S.) or Canada, who demands that she take care of her people, FIRST.
I believe that answer is clear. The Harper Government should not be condemned for maintaining a reasonable approach, they should be congratulated for being honest: We are not major contributors to global carbon emissions, so why should we shut down the Tar Sands, while China and Russia build coal-burning plants and offer nominal concessions as policy?
3) The funding of developing countries, at progressively higher levels, is being balked at by industrialized nations trying to keep their economies, many of which are inextricably intertwined, on even keels. From the very first global warming conference in the early 90s, industrialized nations have serially reneged on such arrangements. The leader in this theatre of the absurd has been what is now a much more weakened, if not weaker, European Union, who while complaining bitterly of Western uncooperativeness, has added to the problem, particularly this year (knowing that Copenhagen was a warm wind away) by gutting climate aid funds from their climate aid budget. The height of hypocrisy? Hardly, there is a long-standing ennui from the European collective elites, which usually has them staring off the ends of their noses at the West, if not for anything else, but for the fact that, according to them, we are gluttonous and voracious in our appetites for excess. I note for the record, that there is a plethora of evidence to prove the contrary. I’ve yet to find a monarchy in North America, except the one currently in power in Victoria, with a madman as King.
4) Developing countries are not kosher on issues like monitoring either. They claim that revisions may be necessary based on economic need.
So then, why the conference?
I’ll tell you why.
The forces of global warming hysteria, thanks to the awakening of the public, and the fraud on the part of many scientists, who drove this folly for the last decade, have now become hysterical. Copenhagen comes on the heels of several meetings and conferences, all a collective bust, all without merit or result. Add this to several years of global cooling, and the liars are caught between a rock and a hard place. What to do? If they don’t get louder and more aggressive now, then it will be blatantly obvious (as if it isn’t to the alert observer now) that the greatest effort to dupe this planet in a century, has resulted in nothing more than expensive and eco-unfriendly summits that have created more hot air than they would ever be able to cut.

Tomorrow, I will take on Dr. Andrew Weaver of the University of Victoria, one of Canada’s most callous and shameless global warming alarmist rubes, for his embarrassing and offensive appearance on The Bill Good Show yesterday. A reader of mine wrote me and I went into the CKNW archives to listen to the informercial, er, excuse me, show. One word: Shameful and shameless…okay that’s two words. But, believe me, for anyone who missed it, no professor of anything should be allowed to speak with such contempt and disdain for others’ opinions (he upbraided and tried to humiliate callers, while Bill Good just sat there and snored away, as usual, while Dr. weaver heaped abuse on NW’s morning audience. Incredible!). Dr. Weaver’s performance was a disgrace.
Until tomorrow on that issue…

Hi Alex,
I just finished watching a two-hour video regarding CLIMATEGATE–pretty scary @#$%.
CLIMATEGATE = New World Order = One World Government = One World Currency = Police State (have you ever read “1984″ by George Orwell–sounds familiar “totalitarianism, if not fought against, could triumph anywhere.”
My allegiance is to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms not any political party.

Great coverage! I have been following it all on the internet, as the MSM seems intent on telling only one side. I must confess that I do not understand all the science but I have always felt that the environmental movement was basically atheist and socialist. At least sites like Small Dead Animals and yours, attempts to educate us deadheads, where the other side just tells us we must believe blindly or else we are like holocaust deniers. They use fear as a weapon to push this total unknown on all of us. It is perverted science at best, and lies at worst.

Thank you Larry. Great to have you aboard. I appreciate your pithy comments.

150 planes so far – wait til the US politicos come on the final day(s).
… “the heels of several meetings and conferences, all a collective bust, all without merit or result.”
I wonder why – think this might be the reason? Given by a “real” climate scientist – an Indo-Canadian, working for Environment-Canada.

Sorry, I forgot. What you rightly anticipated is OLD NEWS – anyone know why did I had to read about it in an AUSTRALIAN newspaper?

Yes, of course. It wasn’t a difficult assumption to make. Glad you stopped by.

There is an old military saying: “Don’t do as I do, do as I say” Are you sure that’s not a veterans reunion over there. Now couldn’t be that since all the real veterans could not afford first class!

You said it!

A great summation of this absurd conference!
I can only hope that, as you expect, this thing will go down in flames, with no agreement being reached. If this is the case, I expect the AGW cause will slowly wither and die, with the world’s general population slowly accepting that all this carbon crap was indeed nothing more than a whole lot of hot air.
As well, we can only hope that the likes of Al Gore and David Suzuki will suffer irreparable career damage (professionally AND financially… though I’m afraid they’ll still remain rich from this) when the extent of this this global fraud is fully understood.

Thx James. I doubt they will quit…too much money has been invested into making them rich. And the compliant drive-by media continue to tell tall tales. It’s incredible what passes for objective journalism. Good to hear from you.

Hi Alex, I wonder what will really come out of that “Danish Farce”, most of these leaders, likely just glanced at the hacked emails, not realizing the scope of the fraud and accepting the excuses of the perpetrators/collaborators. I hope Harper is able to prevail with his approach, which is trying to compromise on an issue which is not an issue. Looking forward to your column tomorrow.

This is the time to for hope that the Copenhagen event becomes an extinction event for these nefarious climate pigs at the trough of us all.
At least Cold fusion didn’t leaver us trillions in debt for a scam.
All the scum-balls & their hookers with Limo’s having the party of the century on your dime. While telling you to go Amish. Destroying your children’s if not your future. All to enrich a statist elite already torpid with the funds & lifespan stole from their citizens. Taxes not only signify money taken but time in your life. Its become thief on a grand scale by an extreme minority now codifying the ways of robbery. To take even more. For power with its control of every individual not of their group. Death worshiping neo-Pagan puritans. Who would have us all bend knee to their weather gods or goddess.
For our penance we are told to go back to live like we did before the industrial revolution. Where dealing with Luddites. Gore being the biggest.
Its time we stopped putting up with this crap. The bowl of lies handed to us.
